The sunset light entering through the windows made Hogwarts Library so beautiful and cozy. Usually, it was one of your favorite places in the castle but right now you couldn't even appreciate it, you were focused on your Transfigurations assay and wondering if you would be able to finish it before your hand cramped and stopped working.

"Oh MC, here you are!" Garreth Weasley's voice took you by surprise, you weren't expecting to see him there or anyone, after all, you were the only student in the library that day. You ignored him and kept writing

"We've been looking everywhere for you to come with us for a butter... What are you doing?"

He looked at the table, you had a lot of books spread all over it, also a bunch of scrolls and a halfway-eaten sandwich you bit whenever Madam Scribner wasn't around.

"Transfiguration homework" you answered without looking away from your paper.

"Homework? But we just finished our exams yesterday. There is no more homework, silly."

You finally decided to stop and looked at Garreth. He was wearing a white shirt with the sleeves rolled up, his tie was a little bit loose and his red messy hair shone because of the sunset light touching it gently.

"Maybe not for you, but I still have a ton of work left to do." you dipped your quill in ink with frustration.

"How? Summer break starts the day after tomorrow. I know it is your first year, but there is no more homework after the final exams".

"Well there is for me!" you finally snapped and yelled at him "Apparently I've been running behind on my homework all year! And none of the professors told me before because I missed so many classes! It doesn't matter if I pass my O.W.L.S., if I don't submit everything by tomorrow afternoon I will fail the year." you stopped and took a deep breath, trying to calm yourself down and not to cry in the process.

Garreth took the sit next to you and rubbed your back, trying to give you some comfort.

"What a bunch of arseholes!" he said "You saved the entire school and they still make you do your homework? Idiots".

His words made you smile, you also thought it was a pretty shitty situation.

"Yeah well, ditching classes to fight Ashwinders and Poachers finally caught up with me."

"Well, I'm not letting you fail the year for nonsense like unfinished homework when everyone knows you are a top student." he declared and stood up.

"What are you going to do? Talk to your aunt?"

"No. Never. I had tried that many times. It never works." That made you laugh so hard that Madam Scribner came to hush you and went away again. "As I was saying. You are the smartest person I know. But there is no way you can finish all the assignments by tomorrow so, I'm bringing help." he was about to make his way out but you stopped him by pulling his shirt.

"Wait Garreth, please don't. I put myself in this mess, I don't want to drag anyone in."

He gave you a sweet look and a tender smile.

"You might be smart but it was stupid not to ask for help from your friends." he came closer and hugged you "You have helped all of us since the day you came to our lives and never asked for anything in return. Please let us help you now."

You felt some tears slipping down your face, you hugged Garreth tight and mumbled
"Thank you"

"So finish the one you are working on. I'll be back with reinforcements and some enchanted quills".

While Garreth was gone you managed to finish your essay, eat your sandwich, and rest your hand for a little bit before your friends arrived.

"I can not believe you hadn't told us about this" Natsai dropped some papers of her own on the table.

"Sorry Naty, I didn't want to bother any of you."

"Nonsense." said Poppy "Don't worry MC, with our help we'll finish by dawn. I'll handle the reports for Care of Magical Creatures, there is so much I left out on mine."

Sebastian, Ominis, and Amit arrived after them, and even Imelda and Leander came as well.

"Thank you guys, I appreciate it so much."

"Thank you for letting us help." said Amit "Dips on the Astronomy assignments"

"They are all yours, Amit. Thank you, Garreth for gathering everyone so quickly"

"My pleasure, now come on I'll help you with potions."

So everyone took a seat and you started dividing the assignments.
Soon it was dark outside and you guys were halfway through the work, later when it was time for the library to close Madam Scribner let you stay inside by making Nati and Leander, as prefects, promise they would keep Sebastian away from the restricted section.

After midnight Ominis took out some snacks he brought, so all of you took a break to chat and had dinner.

"Guys, how am I supposed to write an assay about The Dark Arts if you don't let me get a book from the Restricted Section?" after he ate a biscuit.

"Nobody asked you to do that, Sebastian" Ominis complained "It's a free subject assay!"

"It's for DADA, I believe it's an adequate subject to write about" he insisted, and tried to stand up and go for that book, but Ominis pulled his leave and made him sit down again.

"Why don't you let Gaunt do it?" asked Leander "I'm sure he already knows everything about The Dark Arts" Everyone looked pist at Leander, except for Ominis, not because he was blind, but because he didn't care.

"Prewett is right" said Ominis. Now everyone looked surprised at him, even Leander. "I can manage with that, what about if you help Prewett with the Herbology reports? I can smell his brain fuming. The poor thing has been trying to think for too long" Everyone laughed.

"It might be better if you give it to Sallow, mate" intervened Garreth "All your plants ended up dead, it's a miracle you approved."

"They did not die, Imelda kill them!"

"Keep saying that." she teased "No body, no crime, loser."

You heard Amit whisper to Ominis "Hey, even though I think is great you know so much about a subject... any subject, not the dark... that subject in particular, you do need to reference your sources. Professor Hecat will subtract points from it if you don't do it.

While Leander and Imelda kept fighting, Sebastian finished the Herbology reports and Poppy took over Imelda's assey on History of Magic, originally it was about Quidditch, but it ended up being about Golden Snidget and the cruelty of using them for Quidditch through the ages.

Before dawn you and Garreth finished the last potions assignment, everyone else had already finished and were napping.

"That's it, we finished." he said proudly, covering his mouth to yawn.

"I would have never made it without you, thank you so much Garreth" You rested your head on his shoulder for a moment.

He caressed your hair and just when you felt you would fall asleep he whispered
"Now we can all spend our last day together before the House Cup ceremony tonight."

"That sounds nice, I believe I haven't had a slow day since I arrived here."

"Well, you deserve it. Hey, what do you say if we wake up everyone except Sebastian and go explore the restricted section?"

"That sounds fun. Let's do it, I know where Madam Scribner keeps the key."
