Chapter 9: The Makeup(pt. 1)

Rage instantly filled my heart and mind.

I jumped out the car and I went to the door. The door was unlocked so I just went in.

SB was sitting on the floor by the wall, it looked like he was drunk as fuck.

Meek- "What tf you doing here?" I asked angrily.

SB- "Fuck you"

I went over to him and lifted him up by his shirt and punched him.

"Imma ask you one more time bitch, what the fuck you doing here." I said still holding him up by his shirt.

SB- "I came by to see Nic", he said through a bloody mouth.

Meek- "Didn't I say stay tf away from her. I don't take to kindly to disrespect", I said as I choked him and let him go.

I was about to kick his teeth in when I stopped. He jumped like a pussy.

I was back at a place that I didn't want to be. I was having flashbacks of my past, being a nappy headed ruthless nigga in Philly.

"Get out", I said calmly

I couldn't hear what he said but I know it was something smart.

He got up holding his jaw and left.

I sat there on the couch and put my hands in my head. My hands was shaking, I was so damn fired up.

Nic POV

I finally got home after the interview and I saw Meek car in the driveway.

I took a deep breath as I considered turning my car around and leaving.

"You can't run forever", I said to myself.

It hasn't even been that long and I was missing the hell out of him.

I grabbed my laptop bag and purse out the backseat and headed towards the door. I was about to put the key in but Meek was at the door.

Meek- "I'm so sorry that she came there baby, but you gotta believe that I didn't give her a key. Talk to me." I looked in his eyes and he looked like a sad, lost puppy.

Nic- "I'm sorry for shutting down...."

Even though I don't think I overreacted, I felt bad for not hearing him out and for putting my wall back up.

Meek- "No baby, you had every right too. But guess how she got in?"

Nic- "how?", I sighed.

Meek- "I guess Papi had found the key or something somewhere and he had gave it to my sister, Na. Na thought it was Fah's or something so she told him to put it in his pocket and give it to his mother. I guess he did that and it's labeled with "getaway" so she figured it was a invitation back in my life. She bought Papi there a couple times so she knew it was for the beach house."

He waited for me to give him a response.

I didn't say anything.

Meek- "yeah, she a real life nut."

Meek POV

I was glad that Nic was communicating and let me explain what happened. I missed my baby.

Meek- "Come here baby", I said pulling her into me.

Nic put her head into my chest and her arms around my waist. We just stood there for about 10 minutes before I broke the hug

I reached down and kissed her lips.
"Come with me", I said as I picked her up. She immediately put her legs around my waist as i carried her upstairs.
