Evelyn Swan
After the awkwardness of Bella meeting the Cullens passed, everyone managed to settle back into their regular routines once more, minus Edward, who was practically disappearing from the family portrait. Bella has begun to do the same to Dad and I as she stopped eating dinner with us or slowly refusing to watch films with us in the evenings when Dad is free. Although this behaviour had started when she first became obsessed with the bronze-haired telepath, it only seemed to rapidly decline once Edward brought her to the Cullen house. While I slowly stopped feeling her presence as we began to grow apart it was almost as if she's completely disappeared.
Jasper slowly began to stop feeling safe in his own home as Edward's constant thirst seemed to be latching on to him like a painful disease, one that continued to follow him through the busy school corridors. Jasper had only been able to find relief from Edward's constant projection of his ceaseless thirst while safe within the walls of our house. But even that was short lived as Edward now had a genuine excuse to visit Bella at night.
The tension came to a boiling point after Edward attempted to kiss Bella. Edward's rising hunger seeped through the walls as he brought himself closer to my sister. Jasper was once again forced to drag Edward out of his safe space rather aggressively, for the second time in the past few weeks.
My heart ached as I watched a weary disposition slowly wash over Jasper's alabaster face, even in his eternal youth the tiredness was slowly becoming visible through his golden eyes. "You okay?" I ask him gently as my fingers smooth over the marble-like skin of his jaw, my hands delicately holding his face as I feel the weight of his face press into my palms.
"I'll be fine, honey" Jasper rumbles smoothly before gently kissing the palm of my left hand, his cold fingers gently brushing the backs of my hands before he takes them in his own. "Edward just needs to get his bloodlust under control" he practically growls lowly before sighing softly. I let Jasper guide me gently with a careful tug on my hands over to my bed, the two of us settling within the puffy duvet as be makes sure I'm tucked in warmly to the sheets. "You need to sleep" Jasper murmurs while his fingers brush my hair from my eyes once he's ensured I'm nestled safely in his embrace.
"It's not even that late" I protest weakly, knowing the lies of my own words. My eyes soften as I focus on the tiredness of his golden gaze. "Besides we don't have school tomorrow" I tease him gently with a small kiss on the tip of his nose causing a lazy smirk to grace his lips.
"We may not have school tomorrow honey, but you are joining us for some good old-fashioned baseball" he smiles softly, his cold fingers brushing down my sides before settling on my hips with a gentle grip as he tugs me just a fraction closer to his muscular form. "So we need to have you well and rested"
"Am I even going to see you play?" I huff affectionately. "You all move so fast it's just one big blur"
"I'll show off just for you" Jasper promises with a low chuckle "Slow enough for your human eyes to see" he finishes with a gentle boop to my nose, pulling a soft smile from my face. Despite my initial protest, I feel the subtle ache in the back of my eyes as a sleepy feeling washes over me in gentle waves. "You better not be using your powers on me Hale" I threaten sleepily with a lazy smile on my face. Only managing to hear his last few words before I fall asleep.
"G'night darlin'"
I have returned :)
