Insecurities

The sharp morning sun crept through the curtains and hit directly onto your face. You tried to ignore it, not wanting to wake up just yet. When you realized you had lost the battle, you accepted your fate, your eyes slightly opening. They soon shut close again, your tired eyes not used to the light just yet.

As you tried to readjust to the light, you heard a groan behind you. You figured Lana had woken up the same way, making you roll over to look at her. She was fighting a hard time not to close her eyes again, but finally managed to keep them open after a while. The two of you looked at each other with loving eyes, Lana placing a hand on your cheek.

"Morning my sweet girl" she said, her warm hand cupping your face as you felt her thumb stroking over your delicate skin.

You sighed, smiling "morning"

You had already tangled your legs together out of habit, Lana staring at you with the sweetest eyes.

"You're so tired" she said, your eyes closing slightly since the sun couldn't reach them now that you had turned to your other side.

You didn't answer her, you just enjoyed the feeling of the warm sun on your back, and Lana's hand caressing your face as you were trying to fall back asleep.

Her warm body was enough comfort for you to do so, and soon enough your breathing got slower, Lana figuring you had fallen asleep. She chuckled slightly before wrapping an arm around you carefully, not to wake you.

Time passed by, but Lana couldn't find a way to doze off again, eventually pulling her arms back to herself, before she carefully sat up on her side of the bed. She got on her feet, walking over to her closet where she looked herself in the mirror. She made a grimace, her hands wandering around different parts of her body.

There didn't go long before you realized there wasn't anyone next to you anymore, you slowly waking up again.

You narrowed your eyes and saw Lana standing a few meters away from the bed in front of the mirror. Your sight was blurred because of the sudden awakening, but eventually you saw her clear. You frowned slightly when you saw how she was studying herself in the mirror looking unsatisfied.

You could see she was deep in her thoughts so you got over your tiredness and sat up, walking over to her before wrapping your arms around her waist.

"What are you doing my love?" You asked in your sleepy voice, your eyes still not completely opened. 

Lana didn't even look at you through the mirror. She just sighed, her hands finding their way to her hip.

"Look" she said, and you did, still not getting what she was so occupied with staring at.

Because you didn't say anything Lana continued her statement. "I have so many stretch marks" she pouted, and you immediately felt the need to smile slightly.
You had so much love for this woman and in situations like these, you loved her even more. The things she were insecure about were exactly what made her perfect to you.

"Lana baby that's natural" you told her, leaning down to kiss her bare shoulder before looking at her through the mirror again. She still looked at herself with a pout making you sigh.

"They're beautiful okay" you said, stroking your hand over her hip where they were placed. Lana looked at every movement you made through the mirror, her pout fading slightly.

"You know I have them too" you reassured her, "it's a part of being a woman"

She placed her hands on top of yours, your laced fingers resting on her lower stomach.
"I love you" she said, turning around to look directly into your eyes. Your heart skipped a beat when her brown loving eyes reached yours.

You smiled at her, slightly leaning down to kiss her since she was this one inch shorter than you. You both closed your eyes, your hands placed on her hips on top of the stretch marks. You could kiss her forever, but eventually pulled away to look into those eyes again. You smiled when you saw them shine at you, your heart warming.

"I love you too" you said, caressing her sides.
