The rain had settled after a long and uncommon rainy day in LA. You were on the couch buried in a book when Lana joined you.

"What are you reading?" She asked when she placed down two cups of tea and a bowl of grapes. She lifted your legs up, sitting down before placing them on her lap as she started massaging your feet.

"Poems" you replied, acknowledging her presence by giving her a quick but soft smile.

Lana looked at you contently, her eyes admiring how unbothered you were and how you didn't have a single care in the world in that exact moment.

"Is it one of my books?" She asked trying to gain a look at it, but you shook your head. "Just bought it today"

Lana placed a grape in her mouth, before she spoke up "would you read one for me?" And with that she sighed, leaning backwards as she finally relaxed.

You looked up and a slight smile appeared on your lips before you found a poem, a smirk taking place on your face instead.

"I don't care what people say. I don't care if I'm labeled as a sin or if nobody accepts what I feel. She sets my heart on fire in a way that a man never could. I'm not wrong for wanting her instead of him. A love this pure couldn't be wrong. I find comfort simply through the gentle sound of her voice. She's such an angel. From the way her eyes light up when she smiles to the feeling of being wrapped up in her arms, I know she's the one for me.
And they tell me it's frightening that I could be a girl who's fallen for another girl. None of that matters to me.
Let them all stare.
Let them see how much I love you."

When you looked up with a shy expression Lana's head was no longer tilted back. She was looking at you with pure love in her eyes and a bright smile that brought happiness to your soul.

She squeezed your feet a little tighter as she sighed. "One more" she whispered.

You obeyed and looked down to find another one. You read one through and smiled, before clearing your throat.

"I was a girl who fell in love with another girl. I fell in love with the way she did her hair, the color of her eyes, her gorgeous sense of style.
I fell in love with making her laugh, the
Way she made me feel alive, her perfect
Smile.
I guess I was wrong. At least that's what
people told me.
I secretly grew bitter over the cruel
Words and disapproving stares of others.
I found comfort through the feeling of
My hand intertwined with hers.
I felt at home with the touch of her lips.
I think people fear what they can't bring themselves to understand. But I'm tired
Of denying what I feel.
I don't want a man to hold me close.
I don't ever want to be with one.
So what if I feel this way?
It's not like I have the choice to
Change."

Lana bit her lip slightly as she looked at you opening her arms up for you. "Come here" she said and you chuckled, crawling to her end of the couch before cuddling up with her.

"I love you so much my angel" she said and you looked up to meet her eyes before you leaned in, kissing her lips softly. "I love you more" you whispered against her lips but she raised an eyebrow.

"Not that game"

You laughed, rolling your eyes at her as you placed your head back on her chest.

The two of you stayed like that for the rest of the night, reading more poems together cuddled up on the couch.
