Takuma, Robert, Ryo and Yuri arrived at their new dojo in Mexico. "Mexico? I thought it would be near South Town." Yuri seemed to complain. "The tournament that the invitation says, it allows 3 fighters to fight along each other." Takuma showed the invitation to Ryo and Robert inside the dojo while Yuri just watched that her invitation was stolen by her own father. "That's not fair. But I'll be on the tournament anyway." Yuri said running from the dojo. "We three will represent the Kyokugenryu Karate, don't let your guard down and keep an intense training from now on." Takuma said to his disciples.
In Venice, Italy.
It was a pleasant morning and Terry was using his free time to train inside an academy until he was informed that a letter arrived addressed to him, as the responsible to send it knew he wasn't home. The mailman then delivered it to him personally. "Thanks." As Terry thanked him, he read outside the envelope written 'To Italian Team.' He went back to the inn planning to read it to his friends first, after all, the recipient was Terry Bogard and the Italian Team.
At the inn, the trio was together in the bedroom to plan their next move. "This place is awesome! We could visit some more important places from the country and take some pictures home." Joe was excited with the trip. "That is a good idea, but you seem to want to tell us something brother." Andy said to Terry which would explain it all. "Someone found me here, he or they knew we were coming to Italy and sent me a letter with the recipient with my name and written Italian Team. There's an envelope with a [R] impressed on it and inside I'll read it now. We are opening King of Fighters 1994 following the time honored custom. This year we will adopt a special rule of competition between teams of 3 fighters. That's all... [R]" Terry said and read it.
"King of Fighters? Geese and Krauser cannot be the sponsor, and what about the 'R'?" Andy said while Joe got up his chair. "We are the Italian Team, right?" He asked the two. "I would not let you two out, we're a team." Terry said. Andy then took his cellphone and called Mai. "Andy? How is the vacation?" Mai asked from the other side of the line. "It's been very good, but Terry received an invitation to a King of Fighters tournament that only allows teams of 3 fighters. We three are going to join as the Italian Team." Mai heard and seemed disappointed. "I could not be chosen, after all, you guys are close. But I'll make sure to join the tournament some other way." Mai explained to Andy. "I hope you're not upset." Andy replied. "You know me well, don't you? I have my reasons to be upset but I'll be okay, it's not your fault." Mai finished the calling.
Mai traveled to South Town in order to talk with some bouncer she knew from some bar, but the place was closed with a warning. "I have moved to England; the new address is..." Mai found herself disappointed but copied the address going to the airport in order to get to England.
London, England. The L'amor bar.
The place was crowded and the French bar owner was just behind the balcony cleaning some cups of glasses. She seemed to be a bit worried about her brother and soon an invitation was delivered to her and she left for her office. After reading, she was happy for an opportunity to grab the prize and to save her brother's life with a proper treatment. The only problem was to find two partners for the trio. As if the destiny was smiling for her a young girl entered the establishment asking the waitress around about where King was even knowing her just a little from South Town times. "Boss, a young girl wants to talk to you." A waiter said to her. "I'll be back! Thank you." King replied returning to the balcony. "Is that you who needs to talk to me?" King asked Yuri seating on a bench. "Do you remember me? I'm Yuri Sakazaki, Ryo's brother." King then was more familiar with her. "Yuri? Off course I remember you, are you okay? Sorry for not remembering very well. What brings you here?" King asked to her.
"King of Fighters 1994, I need to join the tournament." Yuri said explaining to her about the invitation she received it but her father took it to use it for her brother and her boyfriend along with him. The door from L'amor opened again and this time was a pretty Japanese woman also searching for the bouncer from South Town, she soon was guided to the two. "Excuse me, aren't you King? The bouncer from South Town? Mai asked being side to side with Yuri. "Yes, I remember you too. Mai, isn't it? So, what brings you here?" King replied making another question. "I guessed you as a good fighter would be invited to a fighting tournament called King of Fighters, I want to join it very much, but I wasn't invited. "You two came in the proper time, I need some money to pay my little brother's treatment who suffers from a disease and can't walk." King said almost crying. "So, do you accept us?" Yuri asked King extending her hand waiting for the other two to do the same. "If King doesn't bother." Mai did the same with her hand above Yuri's. "You two can count on me." King extended her hand above Mai and Yuri's hand.
Heidern was dreaming with his past...
Brazil, Unknown Destroyed Village.
General Heidern and some of his men were searching for survivals in an innocent village that was attacked and had been destroyed. It was all a surprise for them, Heidern wished he had arrived there sooner. He found a young girl with blue hair starving and dirty. "Hello there, what is your name?" the general asked and she replied "Leona." She remembered at least her name. "What had happened here? Don't worry, we're here to save you." Heidern asked the little girl. "I don't know nothing besides my name, I'm hungry." Leona said and Heidern decided to take her with him as an adopted daughter. For some reason she had severe amnesia.
Brazil, Ikari Village
Heidern woke up remembering when Leona was just a child. Colonel Ralf and lieutenant Clark were waiting for the general. Heidern stood up and outside his house, he was approached by one soldier. "General Heidern." He saluted his superior and delivered to him a mail which recipient was General Heidern and the Brazil Team. He then opened the envelope which had another envelope inside, smaller and was sealed with a stamp written 'R' on it. Inside there was a letter and he read for himself before planning to read to his new partners.
Ralf and Clark were standing before Heidern which called them for something very important. "I have something to read for you two. We are opening King of Fighters 1994 following the time honored custom. This year we will adopt a special rule of competition between teams of 3 fighters. That's all... [R]" Heidern read. "General Heidern, does that mean...?" Clark was talking. "Yes, I want you two to fight along with me. I have an idea of who could be this 'R' person." Heidern was sure of himself.
