"Great. They're everywhere."
Sunghoon's remark draws his friends' eyes past the entire park. Emerging from one of the bowls in the skate park is Hanuel skating out of the drop in bowl and then jumping off it and grabbing his board. He makes a big show of slicking back his sweaty hair and flexing his abdominal muscles, because for some reason and somehow the kid was shirtless and sweaty in the middle of winter.. And just to his side are Daejun and Yoonah wading and chatting, another one of his friends pushing around a giggling Mijoo. Or maybe he has those them all swapped- he still confuses the guys other than Hanuel.
"This is the closest skate park to the school," Intak comments.
"There's not many people here, though. We should take advantage of the park while it's still not crowded," Jongseob says.
"Yeah, we can just keep our distance from them," Jay adds.
"I wanna do some tricks," Shota sulks at him, as though Sunghoon were enough of a Grinch to cancel their skate park hangout over the presence of some annoying assholes. And alright, he's petty, but not enough to ruin his own plans over the Shameless six.
Yeah, they came up with a new nickname. There were six guys in that group who were always hanging out, and the rest. Well they are girls who just follow them around like a bunch of sick puppies. So they decided the best name for them now? The Shameless Six.
Speaking of, where is their sixth?
He subconsciously scans his surroundings until a flash of blue catches his eye. Sure enough, when he turns, Riki is sitting on the ground at one of the trees in the park drawing, and sitting atop a blanket also covered in like 3 other blankets wrapped around him. He raises one hand to wave at someone in the distance, but when Sunghoon looks in that direction, Hanuel doesn't seem to have noticed his boyfriend's wave. And Riki had put his hand back down.
Right. Of course, he's here, just as expected. He's practically glued to their sides.
What he doesn't anticipate is how Riki continues to sit there alone. Making no move to join the others.
Shota bounds over like their last exchange hadn't been so fraught and drapes himself across Riki's back in a hug.
"Soullie!"
Riki shoots up in surprise. A smile overtakes his features. Sunghoon thinks he sees Riki's eyebrows pinch for a second when he spies the rest of them, but then his face straightens out into seemingly sincere happiness to see them.
"Fancy running into you here," Intak says.
"Yeah, Hanuel really wanted to come with the guys, and the girls decided to tag along."
Shota pats Riki's arm and says, "You're not skating?" What an odd kid.
Riki laughs and pats him back. "you haven't either?"
So Sunghoon translates what he believes had been Shota's intended question. "Why are you just sitting here? Why aren't you out there with them?"
"Oh, uh- ...I can't skate."
"What?? Then why did you come along?" Heeseung asks, bluntly.
"Well, the- the scenery is nice and It's a great place to draw. Plus Hanuel really wanted to go. And I can just relax here and watch them have fun, y'know?"
They're just ignoring you, though, Sunghoon thinks privately.
"We could chill here together for a bit, if you wanted?" Jongseob says with a smile
