Chapter 6 - Strangers in the house

The next morning i wake up from my own bed and for a while i think that all was just a nightmare  but no. I can see Lucifer sitting in the edge of my bed. "Good morning", he says and smiles calmly. I am a bit dizzy and get up to sit. "Oh, be careful with your hand!" Lucifer says. It seems like he got startled by my movement a bit while i try to regain my memory fully. "It can be a bit sore", he adds and smiles. I look at my hand and realise it is tied into a white bandage. "Aren't you angry?" Lucifer asks after a moment of silence. "Huh?" i ask confused. He chuckles. "I see, you must have slept well", he says. "Why the fuck did you do such a thing!?" i ask. "It is Drew's job to explain it to you, i'm sorry but it is a rule", Lucifer says embarrased. "A rule!? I thought you would drug and kidnap me!" i say a bit grumpily. 

"How did you even get inside?" i asked and relaxed a bit because Lucifer didn't look like a big treath eather. Maybe they were not here to kill me, they would have killed me already. "Kevin was a big dick and stole your keys from your pocket", Lucifer explained. "Darew promised to care from your keys!" Lucifer adds, probably thinking i am super worried of my keys now. "How about my family?" i ask. "Your mom probably thinks we are your friends since she just said bye's to us before leaving. The kiddo is sleeping", Lucifer tells me. "Daniel, my brother", i say. 

I walk to the living room with Lucifer where the others are at, feeling a bit anxious these strangers are inside my home now but not feeling too scared of them at the same time.

Darew drops my keys on my hand and gives me a small smile. "Don't you think your mom snores pretty loudly?" Kevin suddenly asks while sitting on the sofa. Before i can answer Drew calls out Kevin's bad manners. He is just behind the corner so i do not see him. "What? I was just trying to start a friendship", Kevin says back. I can't help but to chuckle and i can see Darew looking at me laughing before turning his gaze away. "See? She is only laughing!" Kevin continues. "She is the first one to even laugh to my jokes so much", he says a bit proudly. "She laughed because of empathy", Darew teases Kevin. 

"Hey!" Kevin yells and tries to pretend to be very offended. "At least i am not overly polite, grumpy or my nose in books all the time!" Kevin counts with his fingers as he speaks. "I think books are nice", i mumble. "Facts", Drew says and smiles, he peeks his head from behind the corner of the room. Lucifer crosses his arms and answers: "I am not overly polite!"

"For sure you are! You would probably even lick Vaelra's floors clean if she just asked you to!" Kevin answers and rolls his eyes. I have to smile to their childlikeliness. "Look! For real he would!" Kevin says and gestures towards Lucifer. I look at Lucifer and he looks away fastly. 

A door near by opens and my brother comes out, wiping his eyes in a tired way. Then he stops and almost screams when he suddenly sees Drew leaning against the wall looking at him. Then he raises his shoulders, probably thinking the boys are my friends and goes to make himself break fast. Drew walks to the others and leans against the back of the sofa. He looks at me calmly and shows me a shy smile like saying "Good morning." After that he turns his gaze towards the window. "We should probably start going boys" he says and nods towards the window. The Sun seems to be shining on it's full power soon. 

I walk the boys to the door and say bye bye to them. The others are already making their way to the 4th floor when Drew suddenly turns back to me and says: "sorry about your hand, i will explain more in another letter i will do for you."

"it's ok i guess", i mumble. "I like your hand writing by the way."

I can still see his smile. "Thanks!" he says and then closes the door.
