Well, we did it, we saved the boiling isles. Belos, the former emperor and my dad's boss planned to eradicate all witches using a draining spell. Luckily, thanks to me, Luz, Edalyn, King, Amity, Willow, Hunter, Gus, and Bigger Luz, we saved everyone from both Belos and his stupid kid sidekick that we happened to befriend, the Collector.
I don't mean to say you're welcome, but, you're welcome, everyone, this story wouldn't exist if we hadn't done it.
Anyway, I walked around the crowded room, seeing families reunite, happy tears, hugs, laughter, Odalia sulking, when my eyes suddenly land on a tall, dark skinned, green eyed male in the crowd.
Darius, my father.
I smile brightly, slight tears forming in my eyes, I get ready to bolt toward my dad, when suddenly, I notice he's talking to someone. I look beside him to see Hunter smiling he laughing with him and Eberwolf. My father looked...proud of him.
Pride.
Disappointment .
Not good enough.
Work harder.
Everything piles up in my head, pure jealousy, rage, a slight sense of betrayal, I couldn't take it all at once. I spun on my heel and sprinted through the woods, little did I know, a young bard girl was following me.
Skara's POV I follow Y/N through the woods, she looked upset, so I want to talk to her. I repeatedly call out her name while walking through the woods.
Suddenly, I hear a scream of rage, followed by the loud sound of a tree breaking.
I run toward the noise as fast as I could, discovering the horror of Y/N in her abomination form she inherited from her dad, destroying trees. I swallow my fear, determined to help.
"Y/N, Y/N stop!" I yell. She doesn't revert back to her human form, but she stops her onslaught of attacks on the trees to stare at me.
"Look, I know you're upset, but can we just talk about it? I want to help you, I'm your best friend, please N/N?" She pauses for a second, turns back into a human, and then there's another deafening silence.
"Hey, there's a nice lake a little further down from here where I like to spend my time.." She says hesitantly.
I listen quietly as Y/N angrily vents while skipping rocks
"The stupid Ex-golden guard gets more attention from my father than me! I might as well not be his kid, for titan's sake, what's it gonna take for him to be proud of me, skar? Am..Am I just a disappointment to him? He always makes me feel like I'm not good enough.... I'm already working as hard as I can to become strong enough to take his place. Why does he have to be such a jerk about it?"
I notice she's crying a bit, I tap her shoulder and hold my arms out, offering a hug. She immediately accepts. I wrap my arms around my best friend and let her cry into my shoulder we stay there for a bit before I hear a voice.
Your pov I let my emotions get the better of me, I just can't take it anymore. Skara taps my shoulder and offers me a hug, I needed any form of comfort I can get at this point, so i immediately wrap my arms around her and cry into her cloak when suddenly-
"I'm sorry, my child."
My head snaps up as a quickly wipe my tears, I'd recognize that voice anywhere.
"Dad? How much did you hear?"
He appears from behind a tree. I notice his eyes are slightly reddened from crying too.
"All of it. I'm sorry I made you feel like you weren't good enough, you were never a disappointment to me, you're the strongest apprentice I've ever had. At this rate, you'll even surpass me soon. I understand you work very hard. Just don't overwork yourself, you're already amazing just the way you are. What I'm trying to say is...I'm proud of you, Y/N."
I stand there and say nothing. My eyes well up with tears again as I tackle my father in a hug, I don't even try to hold back my tears. "I missed you so much, dad..." he smiles softly as he begins tearing up as well.
