"So if I understand correctly, you were rescued by this little one's uncle, and in return, you will treat her mutism?"
"T-That's right..."
Seated on one of the stools in his lab, Dr. Gian Trafalgar removed his glasses before placing them on top of a pile of scattered papers on the table. He pinched the bridge of his nose, looking at the little girl who hadn't moved from her chair since the start of their meeting.
Faidan's crew had arrived late in the evening at Flevance, a city where Frost was supposed to conduct research with his colleagues to examine patients affected by an endemic disease.
Frost had led the group to the largest hospital in the city. It was a grand white building with numerous windows and wide columns that could have been mistaken for a mansion if it weren't for the wrought iron fences allowing anyone to enter.
Once at the reception, Yoan Frost had introduced himself, and the employee simply relayed his name to the hospital director's den-den mushi before a man with tousled black hair, square glasses, and erratic breath rushed toward him.
"Frost! What took you so long?"
Yoan didn't want to discuss the matter in public, so he asked Faidan if he could bring Alessia with them, and Faidan agreed, promptly inquiring about the cheapest inns in the city from the receptionist.
Afterward, Alessia had followed Frost and Gian through a maze of white corridors, and they both stopped in front of a door labeled "Personal Only," which they went beyond before closing the door behind them.
Frost recounted everything, from leaving the Lumi Archipelago to his wanderings from island to island until he received a message from Spider Miles.
The situation was straightforward: the client's brother was mute due to a personal traumatic event. Knowing that he had to go to Flevance two months later, Frost had docked at the trash island to treat this particular patient. However, upon arrival, nothing went as planned, and he ended up being held captive by what turned out to be pirates and couldn't leave the island since.
