Chapter 13: Along Came A Spider

Previously

Last time, Ben decided to hunt down and bring in the villain known as Taskmaster, who was on the list of 74 villains who escaped during the breakout. Going at it alone, Ben found himself working alongside the S.H.I.E.L.D agent, Roxie Salazar. Roxie had the unique ability to control and manipulate machines as well as form powerful mechanical builds from her body. Her powers reminded Ben a lot of his friend, Rex Salazar, whom he met from another universe. Together, the two tracked down Taskmaster only to find themselves caught in his trap. Escaping, Ben and Roxie continued to work together as they tracked down Taskmaster once more.

Just as last time, Ben and Roxie tracked down Taskmaster and found themselves caught in another one of his traps. The two would discover that Taskmaster had found some powerful weaponized drones created by the Roxxon Corporation and was trying to gain control of them. With a little bit of smart thinking on Ben's part, he was able to escape from Taskmaster's trap and free both himself and Roxie. A fight would break out with Ben and Roxie facing off against the drones that were now under Taskmaster's control. It took a combined effort between Ben and Roxie, but in the end, they were able to defeat Taskmaster and destroy all of the drones Roxxon created so no one else could ever use them, just for good measure.

Afterward, Ben and Roxie ended up becoming friends and started hanging out with one another. Little did Ben know Nick Fury was planning something, and it involved the DNA of Ben's aliens. Not only that, but there was a new threat who was searching for Ben and wanted both revenge against him as well as the omnitrix for themselves. It looked as though Ben was going to eventually have his hands full with a lot of stuff, but luckily, the Avengers would be there to help him out.

Outside Avengers Mansion: New York City

The skies above the Avengers Mansion were blacked with smoke and ash as the rain poured down heavily. Avengers Mansion, the home of the Avengers, was completely destroyed and was engulfed in flames. Floating high above the burning remains of Avengers Mansion was a large familiar looking warship. Out in front of Avengers Mansion on the lawn was the badly beaten and butchered remains of the once great Avengers. All of them were dead except for Ben, who was standing there silent, looking out at everything in front of him. Ben, too, was beaten and bruised and was missing his hand where the omnitrix once was. Holding on to where his hand once was, Ben falls to his knees at the sight of his slain friends.

"There was nowhere in the entire universe and all of reality where you could hide from me" a deep and chilling voice says to Ben

Looking up through the smoke and burning ruins of the Avengers Mansion, Ben sees a large bulky and armored figure hidden amongst the smoke

"Your pathetic Avenger friends were no match for me, just like those foolish Plumbers from your previous universe" the figure tells Ben

As the figure slowly walks towards Ben, Ben can see that the figure is holding his severed hand in their armored clawed hand

"Nothing, and no one will stop me from getting what is rightfully mine" the figure tells Ben as they remove the omnitrix from Ben's severed hand

The figure cloaked in shadow then throws Ben's severed hand at him as they place the omnitrix on their own larger wrist

"Now that the omnitrix is mine, killing you will complete my revenge and then I will burn this entire universe down to the ground as well as all the other universes, ruling over them like a god" the figure says, clenching their clawed fist
