We finished up the movie project we were working on. We had the viewing party a week ago. I still have ten days before we start the new project with Donnie and Mark.

He has been coming over all week and bringing dinner. We eat and then go to the bedroom. I know that's our arrangement, but it seems that's all he wants.

Jordan called me the other day when Donnie was here, and I just silenced it. I know I need to tell them both that I am seeing them, but that's going to be a weird conversation to have.

The production team is building the sets with Donnie and Mark every day, so it has been nice just to relax. I went to the beach earlier this week.

Jordan's tour starts next month, and he has been busy. Donnie is flying to Boston for a week next week, and Jordan wants to come visit.

So, he will be here the day after Donnie leaves. It kind of worked out perfectly, and I am excited to see Jordan again.

There is a weird connection between us. He makes me feel like the only woman on earth. When he is with me, there is nobody else that exists.

I am getting closer to wanting to have strings with Jordan. I just need to finish this project with Donnie and Mark. Jordan will be gone for the next five months on tour. Then, when he returns, we can attach our strings.

I have already spoken to Darren about accepting the job he offered me. So, I have been looking for rental properties around. I could keep my house in Charlotte, but I am trying to decide if I want to let that place go so I can have a fresh start.

I have a lot of decisions to make and only a short time to make them. Today, I am going to the beach to spend some time by myself.

I packed my beach bag and a change of clothes. I pack a small lunch and some snacks. I have a beach towel, and I just want to enjoy my day off.

I leave and head to Pacific Coast Highway. I park my car and walk down to the water. I lay out my towel and remove my clothes. I rub some tanning lotion on my body and lie down. I open my book and start reading.

I went for a swim a couple of times and then rubbed more oil on me. I needed this just a day to myself. I left my phone in the car, and I have my CD player.

It is starting to get later, and I collect my things. Walk to the showers and shower the sand off of me. I get dressed in my clean clothes, brush my hair, and head back to my rental, where I will take a real shower.

I stop at a drive-thru and grab me something to eat for dinner. I drive home and unload my stuff. I go in and sit down to eat.

When I finished eating, I jumped in the shower to get clean. I threw my hair in a towel and remembered I left my phone in the car.

I slip on my flip-flops and run out and grab my phone. It starts ringing the minute I grab it out of the glove box. It's Donnie. "Hello."

"Thank god, Sam. I have been calling you for hours and was starting to get worried."

"I am fine. I went to the beach for the day, grabbed dinner, and just finished in the shower."

"You need to let people know when you are doing stuff so we won't worry."

"Donnie, that is a little ridiculous. I am a grown woman; I don't need a babysitter."

"LA can be really dangerous, Sam. You are from a safe area where you don't have to worry about drive-by shootings and getting robbed or raped."

"There is crime in Charlotte, not crazy people like that, but yes, we have to worry about things as well. I know what I am doing, and I always carry mace with me."

"Well, still, Sam LA is dangerous. Please just try to be more careful."

"Okay, fine, is that all you need? I need to brush my hair, and I am going to watch a movie."

"I guess. So, you don't want to get together tonight?"

"No, not really, you just acted like my dad, and I don't feel like drama tonight. I just want to relax."

"So, because I was worried about you, I am drama."

"Yes, Donnie, Our deal was just sex, nothing else. Not a jealous boyfriend or my father. He taught me how to protect myself when I was younger, and he has been gone for four years now. Not really looking to replace him."

"So, I'm not allowed to be worried about you. Just fuck you, and that's it. Really, Sam?"

"Yes, really, Donnie. This is why I have the no-strings rule. Look, you are leaving for Boston in two days. Go have fun, enjoy the time with your family. When you return, we will sit down and talk."

"Whatever, Sam. I will see you when I return from Boston."

"Okay, bye, Donnie." She hung up the phone and huffed.

This project might be harder to deal with if he is going to be overly possessive and act like they are together.

Contracts had been signed, and now she was thinking she wished she had thought harder before accepting a project with a guy she was sleeping with.

She had always been really strict on keeping her rule of not sleeping with people she worked with. She broke that rule when she slept with Jay several weeks back.

Jordan was drama-free. He called her; he worried about her but in a sweet way, not an overbearing way.

She and Jordan had never had words. This was the second time Donnie had been rude to her. She decided when he came back, she was going to end this arrangement.

She sat down and looked for a movie to watch just as her phone rang. She was afraid it was Donnie again. She smiled when she saw the name, it was Jordan. "Hey."

"Hey, babe. How have you been?"

"I have been good. How have you been?"

"Good, just missing you. So, how was your day?"

"My day was relaxing. I went to the beach and got a nice tan. Grabbed dinner and took a shower. Now, just relaxing on the couch, getting ready to watch a movie."

"It sounds like you had fun today. I don't want to keep you. Just wanted to call and check in and let you know I was thinking about you. I can't wait to see you in a few days."

"I did, and me neither three days. That's sweet of you. I have been thinking of you as well."

"I will let you go; I will see you in three days. I can't wait. Stay safe and enjoy your movie."

"Okay, me neither. Always, and I will. Safe travels on your trip. I can't wait. Bye, Jordan."

"Always and bye, Sam." She hung up the phone.

This is what she liked about Jordan he wasn't jumping on her because she went to the beach. He always made time and tried to come visit when he could. She was really thinking about those strings, all those strings attached to Jordan.
