So, I walked back out to the waiting room with my bag. I sit down, and I am the only one here.  I see a recliner and walk over to stake my claim for the night.

I know I won't be able to sleep knowing she is behind those doors and she is hurt. I put my bag on my chair and decided to hunt up some snacks.

I find the vending machine and grab some chips and candy. I got a soda and a coffee. I start back to the area I am in when I see my old bandmate, Donnie.

"Hey, Donnie. What are you doing here?"

"I was in a car accident earlier with this girl I have been seeing. She was injured pretty badly, but no one will tell me a damn thing. What are you doing in LA, Jordan?"

"I have been seeing this girl since September, so around six months. I called a couple of times today no answer, which is normal when she's working. I tried again, and a nurse answered and told me she was here. I did what any man would do and caught the first flight out. I did go back and see her, and thankfully, her mom gave them permission to talk to me. I flew in and surprised her during the holidays and met her mom; she was great."

"How odd is it that both of us have been seeing a girl, and she is in the same hospital and in the same unit? Jordan, the girl you have been seeing, what is her name?"

"It is very weird, and her name is Sam."

"So, you and this Sam girl. Were you an official couple?"

"Not yet; she didn't want to be in a relationship. I flew in and stayed for four days. I just left three days ago. She told me when I finished my tour, we would talk, but she wanted to talk to me about a conversation we had before."

"A conversation you had before about what?"

"Well, we started out with no strings attached, but the more I got to know, the more time we spent together, the more I wanted to be with her. I'm sure she was going to tell me she was ready to become official and commit. I told her one day I was going to marry her."

"Jordan, we, um, we were dating the same girl. I was the one driving the car when the idiot ran the red light. You met her mother?"

"What? No way we were dating the same girl. Yes, I did meet her mom and her sister."

"Where is she from?"

"Charlotte."

"North Carolina, Samantha Baker, she is a videographer and has a new project that was supposed to start in two days."

"Um, yeah. Holy shit, we were dating the same girl."

"Yep, and I believe tonight she was going to end it with me. She is supposed to start shooting our movie. Mine and Mark's, we hired Jay to be the producer, and she has already signed the contract to be our videographer."

"Why would she end it with you?"

"My guess is she was ready to commit to you. She had told me she was seeing a guy from Boston; she never hid that fact. She told me you surprised her and met her family. So, when you started seeing her, was she working for you?"

"Not exactly; I first saw her when I was running in the park. She was sitting on a bench eating her lunch. I had a meeting about a producer for our video. That's when I actually met her and knew her name. We didn't start sleeping together until she finished shooting the video. How did you two meet?"

"She bumped into me. I was on the lot discussing our movie with studio execs. She was doing her first walk-through on the set, learning where everything was so she wouldn't get lost. She wasn't paying attention because she was looking at the paper and bumped into me."
