That night, Jordan, Cassandra, and Becca sat at the hospital until they were both tired. Jordan directed them to the hotel; their room was down the block.

Jordan didn't feel comfortable with them walking by themselves, so he left his bag in Sam's room and walked them to their hotel.

He walked to the front desk, "Yes, Donnie Wahlberg was booking a room for Cassandra Baker with an open checkout date."

"Okay, give me one second. Cassandra Baker, yes, I have her reservation right here. She has a two-room suite. Everything has been covered, including room service. Here are her room keys. When you are ready to leave, just bring your keys back and let us know you are checking out."

"Alright, I am going to go back to the hospital and sit with Sam. You ladies have a good night, and I will see you tomorrow."

"Jordan, why don't you join us for dinner? You have eaten nothing but junk food since we arrived. You need a decent meal."

"I don't want to leave Sam alone."

"Jordan, she stayed there until you arrived alone; she stayed the night until we got here alone; she will be fine while you eat a decent meal."

Jordan looked down and back up, "Okay, but just a quick meal, then I need to return to Sam."

"Great," they went to their room, and Jordan carried their bags just as he had done from the hospital. They went in, and he sat their bags down. She grabbed menus, and they placed their order.

"So, Jordan, please tell me what is really going on between you and Sam."

"We are dating but not official, at least not yet."

"But you love her?" He looked down and back up.

"Yes, I do very much. I was packing my bag when the nurse said she had been involved in an accident. I called my management team while I was leaving for the airport. I booked my flight and came straight here. She doesn't know that I am in love with her, so please, let's keep that just between us."

"Has she told you about her ex? Her serious relationship it is the only one she has ever had."

"Not in so many words. She told me she had an ex who broke her heart, and she wasn't looking to get hurt again."

"Chris was her high school sweetheart; they graduated, went to college together, rented the same apartment she still lives in together, and they were engaged. Six months before their wedding, Chris comes in and just ends their relationship. Packed his stuff and moved out. She found out he had been cheating on her for a while, and he knocked the other woman up. He couldn't hide the pregnancy and his indiscretions, and so he ended the relationship."

"Oh my goodness, that's why she is afraid to commit; she is afraid she will get her heart broken again. I can promise you this I don't want anybody else but your daughter. One day, I am going to marry her. I have loved your daughter since the first time I laid eyes on her in the park. I wasn't looking for a relationship but just happened to meet my future."

"That's good to hear; Chris almost destroyed her. She wouldn't leave her house; she took a leave from work. She stayed in the bedroom all day. He almost took my daughter from me. So, when I met you at Christmas time, I was so happy to see her happy. I haven't seen her smile like that since before he broke her heart."

"I would never end our relationship, so just know if it ever ended, it would be her leaving, not me. Yes, I travel a lot for work. I leave in three weeks for the next five months, or at least I am supposed to leave in three weeks. If Sam doesn't get better, I will cancel all the shows I have to. She still has work to be completed here on the contract with Donnie and Mark. He knows we aren't sure when she will be able to resume her job."
