[Yeonjun POV]

"We should go and eat, food is turning cold now." Mom spoke from the kitchen.

We got settled in our place. He is sitting beside me.

"Yeonjun, have you talked with your dad in a while?" Mom asked.

"No I haven't." I replied. I am not interested in that topic, not at least in front of others.

"You should." She isn't suggesting it to me but ordering me to talk to him.

"I don't know why you still care about him" Aunt Ellen showed her irritation.

"Just because we are divorced doesn't mean we can't ask about each other." She stopped eating and looked back at me now.

"Mom, I'll talk to him once I get time." I said nonchalantly.
Mom gave me a done look and I turned away. I don't know how to react, this interaction has made me speechless.

"Ellen, come inside." She said and went inside with Aunt Ellen leaving us alone.

I looked at Beomgyu, who was sitting beside me, and he was already looking back at me.

"You look Cute." Beomgyu whispered so only I could hear and I almost choked on the water. Me? Cute?
This guy definitely had some special power to always make me a flustered mess.

[Author POV]

The lunch wasn't as cheerful as it should be like any other family get together. The aura of the room was suffocating for Yeonjun and Beomgyu both. It was anything but pleasant.

Beomgyu was shocked when Kai called him and asked him to accompany Yeonjun to his family get together. He sure was nervous but wanted to be there for Yeonjun when he needed someone beside him as a support and he wanted to be that someone every time. He was confused as to why Yeonjun would hate meeting his family, now he knows why.

"Yeonjun, why don't you leave this teaching career and join my jewellery business, I have some suitable posts for you.." Yeonjun's mother again raised the topic he hates.

His mother's side family have had their own jewellery business for centuries. It's their family business which they worship. His mother and aunt are the only heiresses of the business, and so are Kellyanne and Yeonjun.

"Avery, why are you forcing him? He doesn't want to join then leave it!! Even if he wants to, he can't! Our business is not his cup of tea." Ellen poured out her bitterness towards Yeonjun, while Yeonjun just kept his head down, not enjoying the food. Ofcourse Ellen would want Yeonjun to not take part, that way her daughter will have the whole business to herself.

Bemogyu was feeling awkward. It's their family matter and he isn't the one to say anything in between them but the way they all are behaving with Yeonjun, he doesn't know till when he can stop the urge to shut their mouths. Only if he could strangle them right now.

"Mom is right, aunt Ave. Business is not as easy as teaching ABCD to kids! He doesn't even know a thing about fashion and how our jewellery business works. I can't imagine what blunder he can create." Kellyanne remarked and still Yeonjun didn't utter a single word in his defence.

Bemogyu was shocked beyond expectation. The Yeonjun he knows, knew how to stand for himself, he didn't need anyone's help but the Yeonjun sitting here is like a defeated warrior, who has lost the hope to win.

"Ms. Kellyanne, I think you don't know but teaching ABCD isn't as easy as you are explaining. One needs patience to teach someone and Yeonjun here is counted as one of the best literature professors." There was a proud smile gracing his face and Yeonjun was amused looking at him. He was taking a stand for him. Only Kai had ever dared to speak back to anyone for him.

"Any if you really think that it's an easy task, teaching ABCD-" he purposely emphasised.
"Then come and volunteer for one day and teach ABCD. At the end of the day you will get to know how EASY it is." He gave Kellyanne a tight lipped smile.

"Sorry my schedules are so tight, can't take out time for other things you know?" She nervously said without even looking at his way.

He surely has shown her mirrors today, that too not once but twice. Kai will surely be proud of him once Yeonjun tells him about the things Beomgyu said to Kellyanne.

"I understand." He uttered giving her a knowing look which made Kellyanne shift in her chair uncomfortably.

She was trying to insult Yeonjun, but guess what? She got the taste of her own medicine

"I'd like to take my leave now, as we have plans!! Thanks for the food." He said standing up from his seat.

Yeonjun looked at him shocked. He doesn't remember any plans.

He stretched his hands for Yeonjun to take, who wordlessly nodded and took it.

"It was nice meeting you Mr. Choi, please come again." Avery also stood up, seeing them leaving. She was embarrassed by the doings of her niece and sister but didn't attempt to stop them while this man here took stand for her daughter.

"I am afraid that I won't." He straight out cleared his displeasure and it gave another shock to Yeonjun as he never saw this side of Beomgyu before. He was always sweet, teasing and polite.

No one said anything further after that. They were afraid of the consequences. Bemogyu can insult them and they don't wanna take the risk. That sunshine man was scary when it's comes to a certain someone.

With another word uttered, Beomgyu took Yeonjun outside.
