"Delilah, are you gonna eat that?" Megan asked me as she piled more pancakes coated in syrup into her mouth. Olivia, the most mature of all of us watched her in disgust. She pulled out her napkin and whipped her mouth like she was her mother or something.

"At least act civilized!" Grace and I laughed at the two polar opposites of Megan and Olivia. They were an incredibly funny combination.

"No." I answered her question and slid my plate across the table to her, my own mouth wrinkling up in disgust.

"How can you eat right now?" Grace stole the words out of my mouth. Under the table, I was vaguely aware of my right leg thumping up and down at the same speed as my heart. I had a huge lump in my throat from all the nerves.

The girls and I were eating breakfast in the classy diner downstairs of our hotel. The place looked like a million bucks. Everything, and I mean everything was made of glass. I was slightly worried I would break something. This was my first time eating here because it was so expensive. But me and the other 130 contestants going to bootcamp today got a complementary breakfast. Too bad most of us had butterflies in our stomachs and couldn't eat without puking. Except of course, Megan.

I kept trying to take deep breaths but I was terrified.

"You know how I can eat? Because I'm not worried. We're all super talented. We can do this, nothing to be worried about!" I smiled at her positivity. It did slow down my heart beat the slightest bit. Maybe we could get through this.

--------------2 Hours Later-------------

"You're gonna do great, sweetie. Love you!" My mom gave me a kiss on the cheek as I got onto the bus that would take half of us to the X Factor studio.

Sitting next to Megan, I tried to mentally prepare myself. It was hard to focus on my performance with most of the other contestants singing through there's and Megan talking her head off next to me.

We arrived about ten minutes later and filed out and into the building. My heart rate soared as we all piled onto the stage, crew members directing us. The stage lit up blue and we all stared through the spotlights at the three empty chairs.

Shit, I thought. Honestly, I forgot all about my dad. I was so worried that I didn't even think about it. The room faded in and out of blackness and the room spun. I felt sick to my stomach.

At just the wrong moment, Danielle Peazer and Delilah Payne walked out by the judges desk. This was the first time I had actually seen them in person. Other people were with them, but I couldn't tell who, because I passed out.

>Louis' POV

"Are you okay?" asked Eleanor as she crouched in front of Delilah.

"Uhh, yeah." Simon handed her a disposable cup of water. "I'm fine. Just was nerves."

"Are you sure? You passed out right when we all came out?" I said, acting confused, even though I thought it was pretty obvious. Eleanor turned and gave me a look. I raised an eyebrow. She knew me too well.

"Yeah. Performing in front of some of the most influential people in the music industry is pretty intimidating." She half smiled. Good save... Something Liam would say.. Okay stop Louis. Not everything is genetic.

"We're normal people, love." I told her. I stuck out my arm to her and she slowly stood and grabbed a hold of it, steadying herself. Eleanor, Simon, Delilah, and I headed back to the stage where the other contestants and the crew were waiting.

"We're back! And she's all good!" I yelled, always important to make an entrance. There were cheers and a lot of questioning about Delilah's health but eventually we got everybody to settle down and Delilah sat next to her friends. I gave her an encouraging smile as Simon, Liam and I sat down in our seats.

"Contestants? YOU READY?" Liam yelled into the microphone, followed by cheers. The camera's were already rolling. They probably caught all of Delilah's little 'drama' and would most likely air it.

"Family? YOU READY?" He directed towards our big family. I turned to them and smiled, remembering how far we've come as the kids cheered and our wives clapped.

"Let's get started!"

"Okay, so we're going to call you up one at a time to perform your song, got it?" Simon said.

"Lucky number one is, Adam Rusco." I said. I man around the age of 20 got up, taking deep breaths. I remembered him from our Chicago auditions, he was really talented. Defanietly one to watch out for.

---------------------------------------------

>Megan's POV

I sat down, my face probably flushed, next to Delilah. She put a hand on my back and told me how great my rendition of Blackbird was. I was proud of my performance. I had fun and thought I did well. Even though I was a little worried for how old the song was. Liam had started bobbing his head, a good sign.

"Alright, great job, Megan. Next up... Delilah.." Simon said.

"I love your name!" Delilah Payne shouted from her seat in the audience, laughing along with her mother at the coincidence. They looked so similar it was scary.

"You okay for this, Delilah?" Liam asked her, referring to her spell from before. I'm sure it was just from stress, I'd been trying to get her to calm down from her tense state all day.

"Yeah." She answered, straightening her dark grey beanie on her perfectly straight hair. Earlier this morning she had practiced for me while we did our makeup and she had been outstanding, all she had to do was stay calm.

Delilah closed her eyes and brought the microphone to her mouth. She was singing Violet Parker's 'Forget It'. A few years ago, it was a pretty popular song. It was more on the rock side. That's one of the things I love about Delilah, she could sing anything and make it sound like her voice was made for it. The other thing I love about her, when she sings, it's pure passion. You can see it, you can feel it, and you can almost taste it. Her voice and the power behind it, told a story. It exposed how badly she wanted this and made me feel like I should just drop out now.

I looked around me at everyone. The contestants were staring at her, some smiling, some with their mouths open, and some pretending to not care but you could see the slight gleam in their eyes. Every single one of then was jealous of that girl.

Louis was smiling at her like he already wanted her on his team. Liam's eyes were wide as he watched her. As if he couldn't believe her voice was real.

I looked over at the '1D Family'. Danielle and Eleanor were smiling. Kiani and Erika were looking at her a little confused. All of the children were either bored or preoccupied.

I turned back to Delilah, who's eyes were closed, as she belted out the final note.

When she finished everyone cheered and clapped.

"Owwwww Owwwww!" I screamed, earning a look from Olivia.

"Well, Delilah. That was great, thanks." Simon said. Olivia came and sat next to me.

"How'd I do?" She asked me. I stared at we like she was crazy.

"Amazing! Obviously!" We laughed as Liam called for the next contestant.

--------------Author's Note---------------

So sorry it took me a little while to write this chapter! I accidentally deleted half of it... My life.. Anyways, let me know what you think of the story. Just a disclaimer, I completely made up that artist an song that Delilah sang. Since this fan fiction takes place in the future I may have to do that occasionally. You guys will not believe what me and Erika are doing tomorrow................ MEETING LITTLE MIX! We won a private concert :) only about 10 people will be there! Anyways, thank you for being lovely! I'll talk to you guys soon!
