>Louis' POV<
"You girls both sang beautifully last night and I'm so pleased with-" Delilah approached me before I could continue. We were in our comfy, little meeting room, discussing today's schedule.
"Liam asked me to have you sign this. Apparently it was from the beginning of the season and was overlooked." She already had it flipped to the last page, the one that needed to be signed. I chuckled. She knew I was too lazy to read these. I quickly signed with the black pen she was handing me and gave it back to her.
"Okay, back to business." Delilah was staring up at me with wide, innocent eyes, but what made me pause was Megan, staring at Delilah as if she had just murdered someone. "Megan?" She looked back up at me, her scrunched eyebrows and the slight seperation of her lips led me to believe that something was up. "Are you okay?" She closed her mouth and nodded, returning to her normal determined glare during these meetings. "Anyways, today's guest performers are.. Drum roll please?" When neither Delilah nor Megan moved, I patted my own jeans fast. "It's Ellie Goulding and Ed Sheeran." Even though both girls were acting odd today, their eyes lit up. After all this was their passion. Music is what these two lived for and no amount of stress can take that joy away from them. I know that feeling.
"I can't wait to meet them!" Megan practically jumped up from the orange couch that she and Delilah were on. I laughed.
"They're both pretty incredible." Delilah was staring at the ground all the color gone from her face. She looked worse and worse each second of today. "Delilah, you good?" I questioned.
"Yeah." One corner of her mouth was tilted upward in a slight smile but her eyes were dead as I looked in them. I made a mental note to go easy on her later.
"Okay, let's get to hair and makeup."
>Delilah's POV<
"Can I go give this back to Simon?" I asked Lou on the way down the hall, holding up the packet that now contained his signature. I made sure to hold it with the back facing Louis. He nodded and I hurried down the hallway in the opposite direction of where we were supposed to be going. Getting him to sign it had been almost too easy. Louis would be the most careless of all the people that I needed to sign this, but getting the other 3 signatures was going to be a struggle and I just prayed none would try to read what they were actually consenting to. I took a deep breath as I continued through the now familiar never ending halls until I reached an office. This was probably going to be the hardest signature to get. The back of my knuckle hit the wood door and my mom looked up from Kiani's desk where she was helping sort papers.
"Hey, honey." She smiled and I wanted to melt into the floors, what was I about to do? I forced myself to think of the reasons why I was doing this as I took my next steps. My mind slowly numbed as I pushed myself passed all the memories and moments that I was leaving behind.
"I uh, need you to sign this." I tried to hide my trembling voice but I couldn't get rid of the unevenness. Looking my mom in the eyes and lying was near impossible. I flipped the paper in my hand so that it was on the page she needed to sign. The spots were marked with highliter which I was hoping would make her eyes skip over all the words. "It's basically saying that you're volunteering your time to help out backstage on the show and is basically about keeping the contestants and workers private information to yourself. I slid the paper on the desk in front of her and sent a little prayer up to heaven. She grabbed a pen and signed, all three places she needed to. In my head, I breathed the biggest sigh of relief. I picked up the papers that held my future and exited the room feeling both guilty and happy at the same time. I hurried out for the room and sprinted back down the halls in search of Liam, my third signature. I was so close to what I wanted, I could almost taste it.
