Jabari walked down the halls of the school, smiling widely with his toothpick in between his fingers, laughing loudly with the group of friends he had outside Ares.

The basketball he had spun on the tip of his finger effortlessly, "Aw, come on, you know I cooked you." He grinned, licking his lips and nodding his head at a girl he walked past his way into the cafeteria.

"Yooo." A few people walked up to him, dapping him up.

Jabari was someone that everyone loved, unlike his other half. Jabari had popularity but respect from the students that attended the school. He was pleasant to be around and to be cool with.

He didn't take any friendship outside of Phe and Reese seriously at all though. He didn't care about any of these people in his face.

"Here he go." One of his friends muttered in irritation as they all sat down. Jabari actually found himself being the most cool with the basketball team, he just felt like he fit in with them too.

Jabari turned his head to see Ares, Malachi, and Maddox walking in, the twins were of course joking around while Ares' was straight as per usual. He slickly adjusted the gun on his waist, ignoring the people that spoke or came up to him.

"You don't got no business to tend to?" Reese mugged a boy who walked up to him and the twins. "Fuck on." He rolled his eyes and the twins snickered, looking the boy up and down before turning around. "There she is."

"Hi!" Phoenix squealed in excitement, shaking her pom poms, being beyond ecstatic to see her little brother. "Hey twins."

All three of the gentlemen kissed her face and Ares finally wore a smile for the first time that day, draping his arms around Phe's shoulders while his eyes landed on his best friend.

"My fuckin' boy." Jabari smiled. "Hi, sissy."

"Hey." She cheesed.

"Get up." Area snapped his finger, "She tryna' sit."

"It's okay guys, seriously, I can sit with the team." She looked at their friends and then up at Reese. "Just talk to me after."

"Did I stutter?" Ares dropped his arm from around her and stepped closer to the table. Jabari snickered and shrugged when the men look at him to say something.

"I don't think you did." Malachi shrugged and looked at Maddox. "Maddy-"

"Nada." Maddox smirked, tilting his head. "No le hagas decirlo por segunda vez." He hummed, sounding exactly like his father.

"Don't make him say it a second time." Malachi translated, watching the basketball team get up and scurry to another place in the cafeteria.

"Want me to get your bag?" Ares' changed his tone of voice and gently took Phe's pom-poms away, fixing the bow in her hair. "You okay?"

"Are you?" Phe asked and sat down, thanking him for holding her bag in his lap.

"Man this the nicest he been all year." Maddox sucked his teeth.

"The year just started." Jabari blinked.

"Exactly." The twins said in unison.

"He see Phoenix and all of a sudden finds the will to live again." Malachi rolled his eyes.
