Phoenix sighed heavily as she looked at herself in the mirror she had in her locker. "Well no, they aren't here today." She mumbled, speaking into her ear buds. "They're with Bully."

"Ares didn't tell me that." Madison mumbled, humming to herself. "So... he did tell me about you and Prince having a moment though when he found out his sisters died."

"Of course he'd say that. It wasn't a moment, I was just... being kind." Phe said. "And he was crying, you know I hate seeing people cry, it makes me cry."

"You're empathetic. Maybe more than you should be but that's who you are, nothing wrong with that."

"Yeah, maybe. It's wrong when it's towards someone it shouldn't be though. I just... despite it all, Mads, I still feel terrible." She sighed and slammed her locker shut, letting out a small scream when she saw Prince face to face with her. "Jesus Christ!"

"Phe? You okay? What happened? I'm on-"

"No, no, it's fine." Phe huffed and placed her hand on her chest while Princeton laughed. "Prince just scared the hell out of me, that's all."

"I'm sorry." He chuckled, "Can we uh, can we talk? It's your free period too right?"

"Madi, I gotta go. I love you."

"I love you too, boo. Punch, smack, kick, spray, cut in that order, do you hear me?"

"Bye now." Phe smiled and shook her head, ending the call and taking her earbud out. "Um yeah, sure, about what?" She looked up at him.

"Not here." He looked around and back at her. "Let's go to our spot, by the tree."

"Uh, sure." She gave him a closed mouth smile and adjusted her woven tote bag on her shoulder, walking alongside him. "I'm surprised you're here, how uh... how are you? Sorry, it's a stupid question but I just wanted to-"

"It's not stupid." He said softly, walking them both through the basketball court. As they spoke, some of the boys who were shooting ball glanced over, looking at them both.

"Aye, don't she run wit' Bari and Reese?" One of them tapped their friends, pointing to them.

"Yeah, she's lil' Volkan." He muttered and tilted his head. "I thought Reese and Bari ain't fuck wit' him no more." He looked at the twins.

"They don't." Malachi and Maddox smirked, looking at each other. "Mind yo' business, run this pick up." They continued their game of basketball.
