Boruto POV

Everyone who was present during the mission, was soon interviewed. One by one, all individually, Shikadai was now out of surgery and was currently resting. Boruto was further interviewed by Sai about the kidnapping of Mitsuki. Why did they take him and for what reason, Sai had reassured us that they were doing everything in their power to find Mitsuki. It wasn't coincidence that Urashiki attacked us on the train, he was there with a clear goal in mind. I don't know if somehow Mitsuki was apart of his plan.

But I know one thing...

~Flashback

"Well, it was fun while it lasted but it's time that I go, I'm sure this boy will be a useful specimen" Urashiki stated as he cared Mitsuki on his shoulder as he flew away into another black hole.

Mitsuki saved my life, throwing himself in harms way, just to protect me. My fists were shaking as anger boiled up to the surface. I won't let him get away with this, I won't let him take Mitsuki away. He's my friend, my teammate, I can't turn my back on him now. I sighed, releasing my balled up fist, I turned away from my reflection in the mirror. Stepping out of the restroom, I walked over to Shikadai's bedside.

I stared at Shikadai's sleeping form, he's been sleeping for awhile since his surgery. I was lucky to be able to visit him but unfortunately it's on limited time. I stared quietly, they said that he's fine and that he's just tired from the anesthesia. "I'm glad that you're alright" I whispered, only to be met with silence. "We'll get Mitsuki back, I promise, get better soon" I muttered. Soon the door opened turning my attention to it, my mother walked through the door.

"Come Boruto, we need to go, times up" Mom ushered me out of the room. I felt spaced out as we left the hospital, that I didn't notice that we were heading in the wrong direction. Soon enough, we arrived at Grandpa's house which came to a surprise to me. I didn't think we would be visiting Grandpa so soon, jeez why didn't anybody warn me. As we entered the gate, I turned to mom, "hey mom, why are we at Grandpa's house...shouldn't we go home..now that I think about it maybe Sai might need my help on the investigation" I began, when I turned around to leave quietly. I was caught by the collar, I gulped at her menacing aura as she quickly put me in my place.

After she gave me a stern look, we walked inside to soon, unsurprisingly find Big Sister Hanabi and Grandpa showering Himawari with attention. I was quickly greeted as Hanabi hopped up to her feet and gave me a smothering hug. Although everyone seemed to be high spirited, the energy quickly drained after my arrival. This caused me to raise an eyebrow as everyone turned quiet while Himawari was as bright as ever. This worried me, "Hanabi, can you take Himawari into another room, I need to speak with Boruto" my mom stated. This sent chills down my spine, what's going on am I going to get lecture because of the mission.

I already wanted to leave but I stayed put, sitting down as I carefully watched Hanabi leave the room with Himawari. I also noticed Grandpa was being less clingy today, which was a red flag in itself. A few minutes passed in silence as I became more anxious as more time went by. "Boruto...we need to have a talk" mom finally spoke up, I perked up at her voice. Mom didn't seem to mad but I just couldn't really think of a reason why we needed to talk. Did I do something wrong, did I forget something, "you're not in trouble..." mom stated.

As if reading my mind, "then....what's this about..." I asked slowly, feeling wary about this whole situation. "It's about your father and I..." she stated and I felt like my heart dropped and the words echoed endlessly in my mind. Then the words I was hoping wouldn't come, the words that I was dreading to hear came. "Your father and I...have decided to get a divorce" she stated with an indifferent expression. I jumped to my feet, anger bubbling inside me, "you can't be serious" I shouted as I balled up my fist. She stared at me mournfully, "I'm sorry, Boruto" she whispered as her facade slowly faded away.

That's it, I'm so gonna make him pay, I was gone for a day and they're getting a divorce. Why, why now of all days, talk about worse timing. I ran out the front door, "Boruto, wait" my mother's plead fell on deaf ears. Why are you doing this, why are you trying to break this family apart. Tell me why, we might not have been perfect but she didn't deserve this. Seeing the heartbroken look in her eyes, I knew but oh how I wished I knew the full story.

As things only seemed to get worse from here, when will the nightmare end. Please, just tell me why, "why, Dad" I cried out quietly as I ran.

~Flashback

I blinked as I turn my head around to meet a blue cloaked person. My eyes widened as I stared at the man, the mysterious man chuckled as he pulled his hood back. "I told you we'd meet again, little brother..." the familiar blond haired man stated with a charismatic smile.

"You just never know how to keep your mouth shut" Saki lectured. "Oh like you were doing any better, you wanted to tell them just as much as me" he grumbled with a glare. "That doesn't mean we just blurt out thing, Dad said-" Saki began, "who cares what Dad says, we been keeping this secret since the day we were born..don't you feel at least a little left out" the blond whispered the last part. "Haruto, Dad gave us a responsibility, you know why he has kept us secret for so long" Saki lectured but empathy was in her eyes.

~End Of Flashback

Responsibility, what do you mean by responsibility, what more could you be hiding from us. Damn you, why are you doing this, you stupid old man. How many secrets are you hiding, who knows, why didn't you tell us. So many questions I want you to answer but will you even answer them.
