Boruto POV
That morning, I got up instantly with my brows furrowed. I ran around my room to quickly get dress for school. As I ran to stuff all my things into my bag, I glanced at my desk. I looked over to that cursed letter, I frowned and quickly put it in my bag as well.

As always, we trained with Shino Sensei. Practicing more on how to stand and run on water. We trained how to stable ourselves even when the water currents changed. I'll admit, it was tough but it was nothing I couldn't handle. So now, I was sitting at our table, staring at my burger in hand. "Hey Boruto, are you feeling alright" Shikadai asked, concern laced into his voice.
I quickly snapped out of it, "oh..yeah, I'm okay" I said, brushing him off as I took a bite of my burger. Humming quietly in sweet bliss, "ya know, you're probably the worst liar I know Boruto" Shikadai grumbled. "Hmm" I hummed questioningly as I raised an eyebrow at him. Shikadai chuckled, "you must really think your slick if you think you can get away with looking all depressed like that..so tell me, what's the matter with you" Shikadai asked as he crossed his arms. "Ya know, Shikadai is right, you've been acting weird all day" Inojin said, pressing me to tell the truth. I sighed, "okay fine, ya caught me" I said shrugging my shoulders.
I let out another sigh, "it's just that, I got this letter yesterday...it was for my old man so I took it inside so I'd bring it to him but he never came home-" I was soon cut off. "So what, are you just upset your dad didn't come home again.." Inojin asked. "Isn't that normal for you" he added, "I DIDN'T FINISH THE STORY" I shouted as I glared at him. "Well that's part of it, he didn't come home so..I ended up opening it and.." I paused, pulling said letter out of my bag. I placed the letter down in front of them, open for them to read. It didn't take long for their eyes to grow wide.
Inojin jumped up from his seat, "wait, Boruto, you have a brother..how come you've never told us" Inojin questioned me. "INOJIN...isn't it obvious, he didn't know...that's the problem.." Shikadai scolded Inojin. I sighed as I folded my arms, "so...Shikadai.....do you..think it's possible that my dad..cheated on my mom.." I asked carefully. "I can't believe the Seventh Hokage would do something like that...but none the less, there must be a reasonable reason why he's hiding this if even you didn't know about it" Shikadai analyzed the letter, pressing his fingers to his chin. As he furrowed his eyebrows and narrowed his eyes at the piece of paper that laid in front of him. "I know, let's start a secret investigation buuuut...we're gonna need a few extra pairs of hands..." Shikadai announced.

"WHAT...no way....there's just no way Lord Seventh would go and have an affair.." Iwabee shouted in disbelief. "Yeah but even so, we can't just ignore this letter" Denki added. "Plus, from the sound of it, it seems that Lord Seventh actually has been keeping him away from the Leaf Village.." Sarada pointed out. "Yes but the question is why exactly is he doing this is the question, especially to his own child..." Mitsuki asked as he looked over the letter himself. "None the less, we need to get to the bottom of this..we just have too" I shouted as I slammed my hands on the table. "Yeah but we don't even know where the letter even came from" Chocho stated.
I clenched my jaw, "I won't let that old man get away with something like this...there's just no way..I'll ever forgive him for this if it's true.....if it's true that he cheated on mom.." I screamed as fury burned in my eyes. "Wait..hold on Boruto, we don't know if it's really true or not, we shouldn't jumped to conclusions" Sarada tried to reason. "WE SHOULDN'T JUMPED TO CONCLUSIONS...Sarada are you kidding me...if dad didn't have an affair then why would he hide something like this from us..why wouldn't he tell me I had a brother, why would he keep him away from the village and away from our family unless he was hiding something..." I yelled. "Why is it that my brother is only contacting him with letters, why isn't he allowed to come to the village, it just doesn't make sense..." I shouted as I held my head. "Boruto, I know this must be feeling like a lot for you, but I'm sure...we'll get to the bottom of this" Sarada assured me. I nodded, "yeah, you're right" I muttered and gave her a sad smiled.
Then suddenly, someone cleared their throat, "well aren't you guys forgetting something" Iwabee said nonchalantly. We looked at him with questionable looks, he sighed, "we don't even know where he lives, only that he isn't from our village" Iwabee added. "Oh, you're right" Inojin grumbled as he frowned. I put my fingers in thought, "oh wait, I know, the envelop..it said that it came from the Sand village where Uncle Gaara lives" I announced. "Waaaah..you mean, where the great Fourth Kazekage lives" Iwabee blurted out. "Yeah, at first I thought it was from Uncle Gaara but nothing prepared me for this" I mumbled as I looked down at the letter again.
I frowned, "what am I gonna tell her" I whispered as I stared at the letter. Reading it over in my head over and over, "what are you gonna tell who, Boruto" Mitsuki questioned. I sighed, "what am I gonna tell Himawari and Mom, they'll be heartbroken if this ends up being true" I muttered. My hands selfconsciously started shaking slightly as my mind ran wild. But it wasn't from sadness, it was from pure anger, that was clear. "We won't know until we get to the bottom of this but the problem is that we can't leave the Land of Fire without asking permission from the Hokage" Denki stated.
"Well then, we'll get that permission, no matter what" I shouted with determination in my eyes.
