~Chapter 18

Shikadai POV

"We need to get to the Leaf village, the mission hasn't changed, we still have the twins" I stated. "The mission hasn't changed, what do you mean the mission hasn't changed, Mitsuki has been kidnapped, we can't go any further on the train and you can't walk, even if we continue the mission..Mitsuki's still out there, I don't think you can even make it to the Leaf in your condition and that creepy dude is still out there, it isn't safe and especially for you while you're like this" Boruto yelled frantically. "Oh and what do you suggest, you suggest we wait it out so he can attack again and pick us off one by one" I shouted frustrated by the whole situation as I held onto my side. "But Shikadai-", "Boruto, this is bigger than the both of us, he took us by surprise and I.....I don't think I'm gonna survive another attack" I whimpered. I hissed in pain as a sharp pain travelled up my side. I took a sharp intake of breath, "we need to get to the Leaf village and warn your dad, Boruto...cause I'm afraid that..we're in the middle of the start of the next great shinobi war" I stated, tears now pricking my eyes as I wailed in pain.

Sarada now holding me as Iwabee worked on healing me as best he could. "Boruto...Shikadai is in bad shape, he's in no condition to walk let alone run, he won't-" Sarada told Boruto as she stood up from my side. "I'll carry him" Iwabee stated, moving my arm to wrap around his neck. Scooping me up into his arms as I got the message and held onto Iwabee weakly. "We need to go now, we can't waste anymore time with your bickering, Shikadai needs proper treatment, there's only so much I can do for him" Iwabee said as he soon jumped out of the derailed train. Everyone else following pursuit, despite feeling dizzy I saw the look of concern Boruto flashed Iwabee with.

"Are you sure, what about your arm..." Boruto questioned. "Maybe someone else should carry him back" Boruto suggested. "I'm fine, we need to get him to a hospital as soon as possible" Iwabee protested only to be blocked by his teammate. "Iwabee, you're shaking, carrying him will be no problem for me, I didn't get injured during the crash so i-it's fine, plus..you've already used so much chakra trying to heal him...you need a break" Metal explained as Iwabee didn't fight back at the mention of his chakra levels. Soon handing me over, "come on guys, we need to hurry before he shows up again" Sarada exclaimed. Everyone hurried in agreement, the more we traveled the dizzier I felt as I was falling in and out of consciousness.

Sasuke POV

The boy was different from his sister, it wasn't noticeable at first. Without realizing it, Gaara and I noticed that while moderating him closer. Red chakra tends to burst out and around him when he's in a fit of rage. Many of us had theorized that Haruto absorbed more of Kurama's malicious chakra. Which can be dangerous without calming practice of his emotions. It's a similar phenomenon that happened to Naruto.

The difference was that Naruto was controlled by Kurama through the strong emotions Naruto displays. Causing Kurama to easily take control as Naruto's mind wasn't stable to handle anymore pressure. His instinct take over in this case, Kurama takes over his instinct, kinda like a fight or flight response. But in Naruto's case, Kurama is sentient and can make decisions despite his wild nature. As the old Kurama was unpredictable but it chose its battles. But somehow when Haruto was born, he had some remnants of Kurama's rage.

What's in Haruto, isn't sentient, it just pure unpredictable emotion. It was almost impossible to snap Haruto out of it the first time. Despite the boy just being a child, it took Gaara, Killer Bee, and myself to weigh the kid down. The only thing we could do was wait it out before Haruto would get exhausted and pass out. Haruto isn't like Naruto, once he goes into rage, he just might not come back. Being consumed by Kurama's dark chakra, while being in a completely irrational state.

From what we know, it doesn't seem possible for him to transform into the nine tails. But the red chakra surrounding him still resembled Kurama and paired with my Sharingan can make him a terrible threat if not controlled. This alone makes him extremely powerful since his DNA is a combination between Naruto and I. Having high stamina and sharp keen eyes, Naruto's high stamina paired with the Sharingan is a perfect balance. The down side being Kurama's dark chakra pulsing throughout his body. It unstable and unpredictable, that's why Killer Bee has been working with Haruto to give him a level head so he doesn't have any severe flare ups.

Killer Bee's methods has been working so far. As the flare ups has become more rare but each one being more severe than the last with coming age. As he's been trained especially to stay calm under pressure, which the sessions were rough in the beginning but he's gotten a lot of progress. I sighed deeply, "Kakashi" I spoke up, my back facing Kakashi as I stared at the picture frames a moment longer. "Yes Sasuke" Kakashi hummed, although speaking in a low voice, sounding eager to hear what I have to say. "I have a favor to ask you..." I began, "I'm listening..." Kakashi spoke a moment later.

"Can you watch over Naruto for me, when the time comes, I'm gonna finally settle things" I stated. Another moment of silence between, "so...you're final telling Boruto the truth..." Kakashi questioned. "Yes, he'll find put one way or another and as you said, it's better from my mouth than anyone else's" I answered. "I think Naruto should sit this one out, Boruto is his son...they have a rocky relationship already, plus, I don't think Boruto would be so kind to give Naruto a chance to tell his side of the story" I explained. "And Sarada" Kakashi muttered, making me stiffen for a second. "She's different from Boruto" is all I said, "so you're not telling her because you don't think her heart can take it" Kakashi questioned, almost felt like he was mocking.

I opened my mouth to speak but I was quickly cut short. "You'd rather string her along on a lie....how long do you think it will take before she realizes you're hiding something from her...might I remind you about how far she was willing to go to find out if Sakura was even her biological mother..." Kakashi muttered quietly, making his point, almost sounding angry for a moment. "She's stronger than you think and she's not just a child Sasuke, she's very mature for age..it's hard for you, I know...but because she's your daughter you can't protect her forever, the blow will hurt even more if wait any longer and with a bigger blow to her trust it's hard to heal..that's why you need to tell her the truth...you of all people know how it feels to be blindsided by the truth" Kakashi stated more calmly. I just stood there thinking as I was beginning to speak once more. There was violent banging at the front door, I opened the door to be met with pale purple eyes.
