"Ahh!" I said, as a hand tapped me. "Sorry! It's just me." Said my neighbour. "Oh hi....... Sorry what's your name?" I said Awkwardly. "Oh i'm Alex. Alex Turner. Lead singer of the up-and-coming band Arctic monkeys." He said. " I'm Annie. Annie Walden. historian. I'm not really a big deal, in fact, I just graduated." I said, incredibly awkwardly.
After talking about why we're going to Wales, Alex asked a bizarre question. "Why are you so good at explaining something you are lying about?" He said, apparently pleased with his confidence. "Sorry. What?" "Oh its just that you have a Scottish accent and you have avoided contact with your parents, yet you said you went to and English boarding school all your life." "You're right, but how do you know about my parents?!" I was seriously freaked out by him saying i avoid contact with them! "Wow. That came out so stalker-esk. I'm sorry for being creepy. I've heard you screaming at Mia and Emily when they ask you to call your parents." He said, very nervously compared to his original comment. " I'm guessing you know their names because of those events?" I asked, in a surprising flirty way. "Yeah. I'm sorry about your parents by the way. If you ran away at 18 and are a historian now at 22, you did an incredible job at school. I really appreciate your story."
At that moment I realised this seemingly ladies-man like guy was actually quite genuine. Wow, I think I had a crush in him. I haven't had a boyfriend since... Will. Ugh, dont think about him Annie, be strong.
"Oi Annie! Annie!! ANNIE!!!!!!" Alex said, in his addictive Northern (well, not Northern to me because I'm from Edinburgh) accent. "Whaa..." I said, realising I had fallen asleep on his arm. "Sorry. Im such an idiot. Really, sorry." I said extremely embarrassed at this point. "It's ok, but we're about to land!" He said, as he chuckled with a cute smirk.
When we landed, we said our goodbyes and exchanged phone numbers. I knew I was kind of obsessed with Alex Turner.
