Chapter 23- Rome part II

Annie's POV

Present time again

"Mia, I'm so sorry I forgot. Please don't worry about Alex I'll get him out of here. " I said, apologetically. "Look. It's fine. I just have some things we need to talk about, maybe on the plane?" She said. "Ok. Let's get going!" I said, desperately trying to get her to not be so mad. Then Emily walked in. "Thank You so much Em! We would have totally forgot about our flight without you!" Mia said. "Mia, I'm so sorry but your flight has been cancelled. The next one out isn't for two days. I've already talked to the person you're working with, Imani, but she needs you out there!" Emily said. I was upset that our plans were ruined, but relieved this now wasn't all my fault. Then Alex emerged from my room, now fully clothed (for once). "Hey, weren't you guys supposed to be off by now! You don't want to be late do you?" Oh what perfect timing. "We can't leave. Our flight was cancelled." Mia said. "Oh no! Is there anything I can do to help? I mean, I know you guys hate me, but I really want to make it up to you!" Alex said. I tried to read him. Alex is an odd creature, I can tell he's being genuine, but for some reason he's really laid back about it. "Well, if you could get that flight back, that would be nice." I said.

Alex's POV

Perfect. "Well, sorry but that's not doable." I said, trying to sound disappointed. "Well thanks for trying." Emily said. "One sec, I have to use the toilet." I quickly retreated back to Annie's room and took out my phone.

Ok Matt. Text me in 2 mins. - Al

Got it mate- Matt

Then I deleted the conversation. This was perfect. I back out to the kitchen and started to say my goodbyes. Of course, Mia and Annie were very bitter about it. I tried my best to act casual, like I had no place to be in order to drag things out until Matt texted me. Exactly two minutes later, right as I was walking out the door, Matt texted me.

Alex! Where are you! We need to get going or we'll miss the ferry to France and not make it to Rome on time for the show! Don't let me down Al! -Matt

"Guys! Look at what Matt just texted me!" I sad, showing everyone my phone. "Ok, so you're going to Rome as well. What are we supposed to say!" Mia said angrily. "Well, I could ask Matt if we had room to bring two extra people to Rome, but only if you're nice about it!" I said, directly to Mia. I probably seemed as pleased with myself as I was. Ha. Emily subtlety winked at me. " Mia, come on. We have to get there somehow! We don't exactly have a choice now." Annie said, clearly trying to convince herself as much as Mia. "Fine."  Mia said flatly. I guess this is going to be a longer day then I expected.......
