Sunghoon stood alone in front of the mirror, examining his reflection with a critical eye. He was dressed in a sleek black suit, the jacket tailored to perfection. Beneath the formal jacket, he wore a crisp white shirt and a black tie, contrasting with his outfit. His hair was meticulously styled, combed back, which made his sharp and handsome features stand out even more.
A wry smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he selected a watch from the table. It was a fine piece of craftsmanship, a gift from his father. As he placed the watch on his wrist, he whispered to himself, "At least I look alive on the outside."
With that, he headed out of the room to meet Woonyoung. He knocked gently on the door of her waiting room before stepping inside. She was seated in front of a large mirror, where makeup artists put the finishing touches on her. Sunghoon smiled, although it didn't quite reach his eyes.
"Oh, Sunghoon," Woonyoung greeted him, her eyes lighting up with enthusiasm."I'm almost done," she mentioned, "There's still ten minutes left before we need to go into the party hall."
Sunghoon sighed, "I'll wait for you outside. Let me know once you're done." He stepped back existing the room, leaning against the wall, a sigh escaping him as he cast his gaze upwards. "For how long do I have to live like this?" he wondered quietly. It was supposed to be a day of celebrating his achievements, but it had turned into something for his parents to celebrate, overshadowing his own accomplishments.
His thoughts always ended up with the same question: How had his life become a battlefield where he had to fight every day to find even a moment of peace? He looked up at the ceiling, contemplating his life, thinking about his future. He whispered to himself, "I should go somewhere far away, somewhere very cold after everything's over."
He just wanted to escape from everyone, everything, was it too much to ask? He just wanted to live his life peacefully without being presured or controlled. He just wanted to disappear at this point.
"Sunghoon," Woonyoung's voice brought him back to reality. She had exited her room, looking stunning in a red dress, her long black hair cascading over her shoulders. She walked towards him, a gentle smile on her face. "Let's go; it's almost time."
