Sophie woke up to someone shaking her shoulders vigorously. (A/N that means really hard) She expected to find Fitz, because well, her boyfriend hated her now, but it was Keefe.
"Keefe?" She whispered. Sophie felt his hand brush away her tears as her vision cleared. Keefe was in front of her.
He didn't look like himself though; he had bruises, his hair was messed up, his tunic was patched with holes, and he had a huge gash over his left eye.
Sophie covered her mouth with her hand, breaking into tears as her eyes flowed rivers uncontrollably. "Hey, Foster." He said in between coughs.
Keefe's voice sounded worn down and raspy. "What happened to you, Keefe!" She screamed in anger and sadness. He half-smiled and told her, "That's . . . not important. What happened to you is more important." Sophie shook her head.
"It-I, ok. It's because you left. I blacked out from a concussion." Keefe frowned.
"I'm so, so, so, so, so, sorry Foster." He started tearing up. "Who did that to you?" Sophie asked him again. Keefe's face went grim, "I-, my mom." Sophie punched the wall next to her.
"Keefe, are we breaking up?" He looked down, "If you want to be with Wonderboy, then sure! Whatever makes you happy."
Sophie put her head into the nook between his shoulders and neck.
"Never." she told him. Keefe smiled and kissed the top of her hair.
"What happened to you, Keefe?!" Elwin yelled at him, striding into the room.
Elwin pointed to a cot next to Sophie's with a picture of Keefe in his level 3 mascot uniform. The space had tissues, bottles of elixirs.
Even a tray stack of desserts. "LAY DOWN." He ordered Keefe. Keefe walked over to the cot and got in. Elwin brought a few bottles of elixirs.
"DRINK THESE." He gagged as he choked them down. Sophie winced. "Are you ok?!" They turned their heads to find Biana staring at Keefe.
He scratched his head, "It's nothing, really." Biana put her hands on her hips, "Do you want me to call Elwin in again?" Keefe shook his head really hard.
"No thanks!" She smirked, "That's what I thought." Biana then frowned, "Are you actually ok though Keefe?" He nodded, "I promise." Sophie then buried her face into Ella, sobbing her heart out. She couldn't let Keefe see her so, so . . . weak.
She felt a hand on her shoulder. Sophie lifted her head up for a quick glance, but Keefe just hugged her. "Keefe, I love you. I'm so sorry that me and Fitz kissed, it was an accident, and I'm sorry your mom did this, it's all my fault, I'm sorry to be the worst person in your life."
He shook his head, "My mom told me she put you up to it, and Sophie I love you too, you're the best person in my life. I hope I'm allowed to see you weak." He whispered in her ear. Sophie kissed his cheek and hugged him so tight he turned a bit blue.
"Oops, sorry!" she told him, pulling away quickly. He chuckled. Sophie's imparter buzzed in her pocket.
She smiled sheepishly, taking it out. "Hold on, I'll be right back," Sophie got out of the cot and walked to an empty hall outside of the healing center. It was Fitz hailing her.
"What's up, Fitz?" she fiddled with her hair. "Oh, I just wanted to check if Keefe's okay, and you." he added quickly.
Sophie nodded, then bit her lip, "I hope he's okay," she whispered, "I'm okay though."
They both stayed silent for a while, guilt still lingering in the air between them.
"Can you hand the imparter to Keefe, Sophie?" Fitz asked. Sophie nodded, walking back inside, peeking in first, to make sure Elwin wasn't there.
Thankfully, he wasn't. "Hey, Keefe, Fitz wants to talk to you." she told Keefe, handing the imparter to him.
"Oh hey Fitzy." Keefe tried to sound normal and upbeat, like nothing happened, but Sophie saw right through his act. "Hey Keefe, I'm so-" Keefe cut him off, "My mom made you, I know it's okay."
Fitz's face looked relieved, "I'm so, so, sorry. Still, I feel bad." Fitz told him, still feeling like Keefe hadn't forgiven him.
"Hey, Fitz, I said it's okay... I know you wouldn't do it on purpose..." Keefe promised he had forgiven him.
Fitz bit his lip, mumbling numbers under his breath. Sophie looked at him in confusion, "What was that?" Fitz startled by her words, "What? The numbers?" when Sophie nodded he continued.
"Oh, you left the room before Gisela did and she was on the imparter with someone for about a few minutes and she said a string of numbers, like an address." She asked, "Which numbers?". "379 Live Grove Drive." He told Sophie, reciting the numbers again.
"Should we... go to that address??" She asked Fitz. He was about to say something when Keefe started talking, "Foster, don't, please. I don't want you to go without me." He begged.
Sophie tugged out an itchy eyelash, "Keefe, this might be important..."
"Then let me get out of this idiotic bed and come!" Keefe exclaimed, already climbing out of the cot and started sprinting over to her.
Sophie held out her hand to stop him. "Keefe, we can't set back your recovery." she told him, taking his hands.
"But Foster I-" Keefe started but Sophie cut him off. "Keefe please, listen. Me and Fitz will be right back after checking this address ok?" Keefe bit his lip but nodded, returning to his cot.
Fitz took out his pathfinder leaping to the healing center, then taking Sophie's hand as they glittered away to London.
