"Well, take your seats, class." the teacher-Mrs. Riley says, pinching her nose. Sophie cringed. This teacher looked like she was going to be like her old teacher, Mr. Sweeney. And Mr. Sweeney did NOT Sophie.
Everybody took their seats and stopped talking. But Sophie internally prayed that the teacher wouldn't put the spotlight on her-or Keefe. Especially not Keefe. Judging by the way, one of the girls was eyeing Keefe...
That girl looked like she wanted him. BAD. Every time Keefe would smirk, they would swoon, and when he directed his smirk towards Sophie, they groaned.
"Okay, so class, today there's a football game. State championships. So we will actually end our day after 5th period and all the cheerleaders will go to Coach Hailey! So the list for my homeroom is Maddie, Abby, Reyna, Peyton, and of course, our star captain, Sophie!"
HUH?! Sophie didn't do cheerleading! She could barely walk with her 2 feet, much less spin and flip in the air for a basket toss! Sophie was super confused, so she raised her hand, then realizing if the teacher was right, how weird it would be.
So instead of asking if that's a mistake, Sophie asked: "Can I use the bathroom?" When the teacher nodded, Sophie glanced at her locker number written on the binder, THANKFULLY, and practically sprinted to her locker.
It was on the farther side of the school near the corner where there were only about 16 lockers. 8 of the boys football team and 8 of the girls cheer team. Sophie opened her locker and snatched her imparter. "Mr. Forkle." she demanded impatiently.
His face appeared on the screen. "Mr. Forkle, why am I the school's cheerleading captain?!" Mr.Forkle bit his lip.
"It sounded fun. And carefree. And you would also easily blend in, Miss Foster. I did alter the school's memories as if you and Mister Sencen were regular students."
Sophie sighed. At least telekinesis would help. "Any other surprises?" She asked sarcastically, shocked when he nodded.
"Mister Sencen is ... the school's football team wide receiver. And yes, we also implanted the skills and everything into your kids' memories." Mr. Forkle said, as Sophie's jaw dropped.
Wow...I guess her and Keefe were now...athletic?
"I have to go, Miss Foster. And I'm sorry for not telling you," He clicked off with an apologetic smile.
"So, I'm guessing Forkle told you I'm the wide receiver, and you're cheer captain?" Keefe said smugly. "Oh my god! We should have brought Silveny! She'd be chanting 'KEEFE, KEEFE, KEEFE!' We all need her on the team."
Sophie laughed and Keefe smirked at her, moving closer to tilt up her chin. They both went silent.
"So...what fun things did you mean?" Sophie asked, not reading the darn hints. Keefe laughed lightly and smiled.
He whispered "What do you think?" His gaze shifted to her mouth, inching closer. When Sophie looked confused, he laughed at her obliviousness and kissed her slowly.
A/N: A little surprise for y'all! This moment will now be written from Keefe's 1st person POV below!
All I could think was that the girl I was kissing was all that mattered.
Waiting years for her, hoping she would leave the guy who screamed and yelled at her even if it wasn't her fault.
It wasn't her fault. It never was. Fitz had been that toxic guy that Foster had liked because of his teal eyes. She just didn't know how he would treat her.
And after years of hoping she would be mine, she finally is.
Kissing her was amazing. It never got old. I pushed Foster gently against the wall, gripping her back with my hand as her head lolled over to the other side.
She tore her hand through my hair, and I didn't care how messed up my hair was for once.
Her hands felt amazing running through my hair. I pulled her in tighter as I brushed her cheek lightly.
And then she pulled away and I frowned playfully. She laughed at me.
Foster had always hated her laugh but for me ... it sounded heavenly. Music to my ears.
And her hair was so soft and smelled amazing. And she doesn't even use as many hair products as me! Not even close!
"So was that enough for you, Keefe?" Foster asked me playfully. I laughed quietly and cupped her cheek.
"I will never get enough of you." I whispered to her as she flushed, face red. "Why are you so hot?" I asked, actually serious.
As she blushed and stuttered over her words, I played with her tank string. Foster looked so beautiful. With her blue jean shorts, cut-off above her thighs, and her short white tank, complete with her amazing, flowing blonde hair onto her shoulders.
"C'mon let's go back inside." I told her, taking her hand. She laughed lightly and came along.
