Chapter 31: Alive

Author's note: This might be one of the longest chapters yet... 

Also, don't worry, the title of the chapter will make sense in time.

Luke was humming a tune to himself as he got ready to go to the carnival. He, Amanda, Mario, and Meggy were all going as a group. Kevin was working late, again... He did tell his younger siblings to be safe.

Luke put on the bracelet Three had given him for his birthday. It was like a good luck charm for him. He wore it during his final exam for film study and he got the highest score out of the whole class.

Both of his siblings did comment on where Luke got the bracelet though. He lied and he got it from a secret admirer, Amanda asked how that was possible since the college doesn't have school lockers. Luke lied it about waiting on his desk when he got to english class.

Speaking of Amanda, she was knocking on Luke's bedroom door. "Luke! Mario and Meggy are here!"

"Alright!" Luke said. He made his way to open the front door. There stood his friends in their usual outfits. Mario had a big smile on his face, he was jumping up and down in place.

"Glitchy!" Mario put an arm around Luke. "Are you ready to party!?"

Both Amanda and Meggy giggled. Luke was chuckling as well. "Yes, yes I am."

The four of them made their way down the stairs, as the elevator was still broken. Luckily, they only lived on the fourth floor, even though Kevin once said something about how four is bad luck in a lot of Eastern Asian folklore or something like that.

The carnival was not too far away from where they lived, so that was good. What was better was that it was cloudy, meaning Three couldn't be burned by the sun. Which was great, considering summer meant the days were longer, and the sun didn't set until 8' o clock.

When they got to the carnival, Amanda ran off to go onto the bumper cars. Which made Luke laugh, his sister can be so predictable sometimes. 

Luke spotted Three up ahead, he was wearing a similar outfit Three had worn on their first date. Three was also with the rest of his pod. 

"Alrighty!" Mario said, pumping up his arms in the air. "Let's party!" But when he looked around, Glitchy was nowhere near to be seen.

Meggy pointed up ahead. "Uh, Red." Glitchy was with some man he had never seen before... was that his vampire boyfriend? Mario drooped down. Meggy patted Mario's back. "It's okay Mario, I'm sure Luke will catch up with us later..." She tried to reassure him.

Mario seemed to perk up at that. "Okie-dokie! Mario's gonna get something to eat!" He ran and decided to hide behind one of the attractions. 

He saw that Meggy had walked up towards Glitchy and his vampire boyfriend, and what Mario could only assume were the vampire's friends. Did those people know that they're friends with a vampire? Or were they also vampires?

Meggy linked her arms around a woman with curly hair, he doubt she was a vampire. Why would a vampire hunter date a vampire? 

Both Meggy and her girlfriend, and Luke and his boyfriend left, heading in opposite directions. Which left another couple, by themselves.

It was time to test something out.
