When Yuzuru turned off his phone, you could see he was frustrated.

"Is everything ok?" Maya asked.

"Just my mom being my mom."

"You love your mom."

"I do, but she forgets I'm not a child anymore."

"What's going on?"

"She noticed how my team started acting immediately and wanted to know what was going on."

"That fast?"

"She knows everything, Maya..."

"Not everything."

"Well, you are the one person I know who was able to hide something from her." he said chuckling.

"A talent, really."

"She made a few questions but I don't think she suspects it's related to you."

"You think she will be pissed that I hid Kaiya?"

"My mom will understand. She's a mother too. I think you should be more worried about Giulia."

"I've accepted a long time ago that my mother will kill me for hiding this. It's really just a matter of time."

Yuzuru placed his arms around her and hugged her from behind.

"You're too beautiful to be killed."

She smiled and turned around in his arms, the familiarity of his hold too hard to fight.

The stares were intense and Maya was almost sure that if it wasn't for the little girl watching, they would've lost it by now and succumbed to the desire and sexual tension hanging in the air.

It wasn't hard to tell that they both missed the intimacy of touch, especially of each other.

"How many?" Maya asked seriously.

"How many what?"

"Girls..."

"Doesn't matter."

"It does matter."

"No, it doesn't, because I couldn't care less about each of them."

"I still want to know."

Yuzuru pouted adorably and she wanted to kiss it all away.

Well, she wouldn't, not in front of Kaiya when things were so uncertain, even if she wanted to.

But Maya was silently hoping that he would stay a little longer after the girl's bedtime so they could talk a little longer with a bit more privacy.

Right then, they were both very careful of what they uttered in front of her.

It felt like good old times, with the exception of the extra set of eyes carefully watching their interactions. Maya cooked while Yuzuru helped.

Well, he didn't necessarily help that much. In fact, most of what Yuzuru did was distract her from the food but it still felt amazing to Maya, to get into the routine with this man, the father of her daughter.

He was still useful enough to set the table with Kaiya and make sure the little one wasn't getting hurt or anything of the sort.

Seeing them interact together was something that Maya had long believed to be impossible again but now, she was more than happy to see.

And even later, as they ate, there was no silence around the house when Kaiya started talking excitedly about her latest sessions at the rink.

There was nothing more beautiful than seeing this little girl share her happiness with the shared hobby she had with her father.
