Telling Tracy that they would go to Japan together was easier than they expected.

The coach barely made any questions and only forced Yuzuru to promise to take good care of them and make sure they visited often.

Sure enough, Tracy didn't know that they were planning on risking everything for the sake of their future, but it was bad enough that they knew how dangerous this was.

Obviously, the trip to Japan brought a lot of pending matters.

The most pertinent of which, is the little detail that neither of their families was aware of Kaiya.

And well, telling Yumi meant that Giulia would know very, very quickly.

They had to do it all in a coordinated affair, which meant that Maya could use the help of her old friend Chiara.

It had been a while since they spoke and her friend certainly had no idea that Yuzuru was by Maya's side.

Yuzuru was taking care of their daughter as she tried texting her friend.

'Tell me when it's ok to video call you.'

The answer was almost immediate.

'Whenever you want. I'm at home.'

'Please turn everything off. I will call in 5 minutes.'

She didn't need to explain that message. Chiara was already very aware of the ritual they always did before calling, even if they rarely did video calls.

Maya just went to the kitchen to grab some water as she waited for the time to pass and smiled at Yuzuru as she did.

"I'm going to call Chiara now." she informed him

"Tell me if you need anything."

"Thank you."

She kissed his cheek, ignoring her daughter's look. If they were going back to Japan, might as well start introducing the girl to the idea of seeing Maya and Yuzuru being affectionate to each other.

Just a few moments later, she was finally calling her friend.

When Chiara's face showed on the screen, Maya just realized how long it had been since they spoke face to face. Their usual method of speaking was through texts or phone calls. This was definitely better.

"Maya!"

"Hey, Chiara! How are you?"

"Bored af. Can you believe that the boss grounded me because I refused to work with a douchebag?"

"Was the douchebag famous?"

"Kinda..."

"Then yes, I believe it." Maya chuckled, knowing how her friend usually was.

"You look good. How's everything?"

"So do you. Better than I thought it would."

"Something happened?"

"A lot of things happened. It's why I'm calling you, actually."

"You're making me very curious. Where's Kaiya?"

"She's in the living room."

"Alone?"

"No. Someone is watching over her."

"Someone? Is this how you're telling me you found another guy? After so long? I always thought you would be faithful to Yuzuru until the end but I guess I was wrong."

"Don't be ridiculous, I will always be faithful to Yuzu."

"Huh? You're so confusing right now."

"Let me confuse you even further... I will be going back to Japan soon."
