'Chapter 24'

─── · 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───

I have lived amongst and bred children who have come to breed their own, and these new generations are strikingly different and infinitely more powerful than my mother had described them. They are not merely connected to the essence of Mother Nature; at times, they embody her in ways that are truly awe-inspiring, still managing to shock me even now.

There remain many mysteries I have not yet unraveled, but I hope that my legacy can be carried forward. My final days approach, and I fear for the safety of our kind. As our tribe has grown, so have they—the Nulpine—and with their growth, dangers abound.

Our adversaries draw closer, forcing most of our tribe to scatter in every conceivable direction. The elders have concluded that separation is our best defense. Killings have reached an unprecedented high, and the Nulpine hold firm in their belief of not harming those without powers, resulting in countless deaths. I pray that this doctrine might shift in the future, but for now, I shall document my knowledge for the next protector or generation of Nulpine.

Among their kind, my favorites were the ones rooted in the earth.

Dria's eyes scanned the journal's pages, absorbing the ancient wisdom inscribed within the weathered parchment. The illustration before her depicted a powerful Nulpine warrior, his physique robust and his demeanor exuding strength. Clad in a green cloth wrapped around his waist and adorned with wristplates of the same hue, he wore no shoes but instead sported a regal horned crown upon his head.

The text surrounding the illustration detailed the elemental mastery of Nulpine rooted in earth. "These type of Nulpine are rooted in earth," Dria read aloud, her voice resonating with the weight of ancient knowledge. "They possess an innate connection with the earth element, enabling them to manipulate soil, rocks, and minerals. They were known as the Terramystics of Nulpine."

Dria continued reading the ancient text, her eyes skimming over the words describing the extraordinary powers of the Nulpine.

"These Nulpine, possess a profound connection with the earth element," she recited, her voice carrying the weight of the ancient knowledge. "They can manipulate soil, rocks, and minerals with unparalleled precision. With a mere thought, they can shape the terrain, creating hills or valleys at will. Their power extends to the very core of the earth, enabling them to summon rocks from beneath the ground, using them as shields or projectiles. In their presence, the earth itself becomes their ally, responding to their every command."

As she continued, the depth of the Terramystics' abilities became evident. "Furthermore, these Nulpine have the unique ability to commune with plant life. They can awaken the slumbering spirits within trees, vines, and flowers, gaining knowledge from the ancient wisdom of the forests. In times of danger, they can call upon the roots of ancient trees to form impenetrable barriers, protecting themselves and their allies. The Terramystics' power is not just in manipulation but also in understanding the intricate balance of nature, making them formidable guardians of the earth, and ensuring that their connection with the natural world remains unbreakable."

Dria's fingers turned the ancient pages, her attention fully immersed in the mesmerizing text, so much so that she failed to notice the subtle, yet profound, movements unfolding before her eyes.

"The emergence of Terramystic powers was a phenomenon that often revealed itself in subtle yet awe-inspiring ways, particularly in the young Nulpine. The ground beneath their feet would occasionally tremor, a minor quake imperceptible to others but resonating deeply within the child. Vibrant wildflowers sometimes miraculously burst into bloom around them, even in the most desolate and barren of lands, as if the very earth was responding to an ancient call," she read, "stones and pebbles would shift and rearrange themselves, forming intricate patterns guided by the innate instincts of the young Terramystics. These subtle manifestations were the earth's way of recognizing its kin, a silent acknowledgment of the extraordinary bond shared between the Nulpine child and the natural world."
