Chapter 8

So, I just wrote back to Mike, including how I want to get back together, and my Skype address. I just really hope Ross doesn't get involved again. Well, I guess I should go check the mail.

I walk out to get the mail, and I see another letter. I look at it, and my eyes widen. It's a letter from Ross. It even smells like his cologne. He went all put with this letter. I decide to open it when Emma is here, which luckily, she's coming over today for a sleepover. I walk back into my house, and tucked the letter away in my dresser.

~6 hours later~

Emma finally got here. We sat at my kitchen table, drinking hot chocolate. I told her about the letter, and asked her I'd I should open it.

"I think you should, but just don't write him back, or do what the letter asks you to do. Need I remind you that last time you asked me for my advice on this, you did it anyway." She said, doing that weird little eyebrow thing she does.

I laughed. So did she. Emma always knows how to make me laugh. The most horrible things could be happening in my life, and Emma would be able to make me laugh, even if she didn't mean to.

I grabbed the letter, sat back down at the table, took a sip of my cocoa, and looked at the letter. "Well, here goes nothing" I say as I tear the envelope open. I take out the letter written on paper covered with heart, and smelled like Ross's cologne. I swear, he can be so romantic. Don't say that Laura! I say as I mentally face palm myself.

I read the letter, and when I'm done, I drop the letter and start to cry.

"Laura! What's wrong sweetie!?!" Emma gasps, getting up from the table, and running to were I was.

"Read.....t-t-the....n-n-n-note!" I choke out, before crying even harder than I thought possible.

Emma picks up the letter, reads it, and Utters out an "Oh my gosh!"
