Chapter 14

Ross's POV

Riker and Rocky just got done telling me the perfect way to ask Laura out. Well, Riker did. Rocky just said to give her Mac and cheese with a note.

The good advice came from Riker. Turns out, he likes her best friend, Emma. He wants to ask her out with a note. Emma basically lives with Laura, so we are going to send them both notes like I've been doing. Only, with mine, I'm going to put another proposal on it like I did before. This is going to be great.

The note was sent. I'm so excited. This could be my dream come true!!!

Laura's POV

I was watching tv with Emma, and I heard the mail go by. "Hey Emma, ill be right back. I'm just going to check the mail."

I get up from the couch, and walk outside. I go down to the mail box and grab the mail. As I walk back inside, I smell that familiar scent. It's Ross's cologne. I get in the house, and I sit back down on the couch next to Emma. I sort through the mail. I had so many bills. Ever since Mike moved out of our shared apartment, I had to ask my parents for help with the bills.

My parents moved to Italy about 2 years ago when I was in 10th grade. I didn't want to leave Mike, so I convinced them to let me stay with Mike in his apartment. He was in 11th grade at the time, and had made enough money to help me with the bills. I occasionally get a check from him to help me, but not often.

Anyway, as I was sorting, I saw two letters. One addressed to me, and the other to...Emma?

I hand her hers, and she looks at me confused as she takes the letter and turns the tv off. "Whats this for?" She questions.

"I have no clue. But, it's addressed to you, so open it." I open my letter from Ross. I know it's from him, because it's his handwriting, and it's smells like him. I open it, and read it.

Laura,
I think by now you know, I'm crazy for you. I can't spend one day without you on my mind. Now that we are both 18, and we are adults, I think it's time for me to formally ask you a question I have been dying to ask since the day I laid my eyes on you. Text me when you have received this letter. My number is (586) 820-6193.

I couldn't help but smile when i read that. I'm going to do it. As soon as Emma reads her letter, I'm texting him. She better read it quickly! "Emma! Hurry up! Read! Who sent it, and what did they want?" I ask.

"I think I found my new boyfriend." Was all she said. Then she read it.

Emma,
I have always liked you. I graduated last year, and every day, your smile made it worth going to that hell hole. No matter how bad my day was, I always could not wait to go back the next day. You really are my dream girl. I want to be with you. Text me when you received this letter. My number is (586) 820-3017.

Wow! I can't believe the two most handsome guys in school gave us there numbers. I'm defiantly going to text Ross, and I hope Emma texts Riker.

"Well girl, what are we waiting for? Let's text them!" She says excitedly. We grab out phones and text them. As soon as I send mine, I get one back.

Yay! I'm happy you texted me. Okay, now first, put something nice on. I will pick you up at 8:30. Don't bring anything else. You won't need it.

I'm excited. Emma then texts Riker. She immediately gets a text back.

I'm so happy you responded. Okay. Now, Ross and I will be by to pick you up at 8:30 tonight. Wear something nice. Can't wait to see you!

We run upstairs to our rooms. Yes, Emma now lives here. Her parents were moving to Australia, and she didn't want to leave her school, friends, and she wanted to graduate in the same school district she went to her entire life. I run to my room. I look through my closet, but only find a few dresses. I better go see if Emma wants to go shopping. If on cue, I hear her voice. "LAURA!! WE NEED TO GO SHOPPING!" She shouts as she gets her purse. I go to get my purse, but then I remembered that didn't get paid. "Emma, I don't have any money. I can't go!" I say. She looks at me, and smiles, pulling out a huge pile of cash. She hands me most of it, and tells me to spend as much as I need. "What about you?!?" I say. "I got paid triple, because i stayed at the office longer the past week. I also got a debit card. So, I use the card, you use the cash." She smiled. "Are you sure?!?" I say. "Yep, now let's go."

~After the Mall~

I got a yellow dress that cuts off mid thigh, and has an angle wing sleeve. I also got a pair of black heels, and some new makeup. I gave Emma back the cash that I didn't use.

Emma got a blue sparkly strapless dress. She got a pair of white sparkly heels, and new make up as well. As soon as we get home, we go to our rooms. I jump in the shower, and let the hot water take all of my nerves away.

I get out, and put my dress on. I curl my ombre hair, and put it in a high pony tail with a strand of hair hanging to the side of my face. I pull out my new makeup, and apply mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, and lip stain. I also put sticky lip gloss on, and looked at the clock. 8:25. Perfect timing.

I walk out as Emma walks out. She curled her hair, and put a clip in the back to hold the two braids together that she pulled from the front of her face. She had her makeup on light, and the dress looked beautiful on her. "You look so beautiful Laura!" She said.

"Right back at you Emma!" I say, hugging her. We walk down the stairs, and we sit on the couch. We talk about what could happen tonight. There are so many possibilities.

My thoughts got interrupted when I heard a knock on the door. Emma and I say straight up, fixed our dresses, and walked to the door. I took a deep breath, and answered the door.
