Laura's POV
I look over a few yards and see Emma and Riker in another cabana. She looks so happy. Maybe Ross and I will be that happy someday.
"Laura, it's going to start soon." Ross said
"What's going to start soon?" I ask curiously. I'm a naturally curious person.
"Just look up at the sky angel, and you'll see what I'm talking about." He smiles. I give him a curious look, but when I look up, fireworks fill the sky, with a heart and the words Laura, please be my girlfriend! Spelled out. I look around the sky, and many more fireworks surround the words. They all form a heart. [A/N picture of the fireworks that form a heart are at the beginning]
I look at Ross with tears in my eyes. He has a hopeful look on his face. I can't believe this is the guy that used to hate me, and I can't believe I actually hated him more. He grabs my hands and look directly in my eyes.
"Laura, I know I have been a complete asshole to you. I wasn't thinking that by doing that, I was hurting you. Ever since I first laid my eyes on you when we were little, I knew you were the one for me. But, I never knew how to express my feelings, so I guess I thought bullying was the best option. I never meant to hurt you. I went about my feelings the wrong way. That's why I always would give you those notes. I could never man up and tell you what I really felt. I've spent so many years dreaming of this moment, and now that I had the guys to do it..." he gets down on one knee, and pulls out a Promise ring with diamonds on it. "Will you be my girlfriend?"
I look at him as I cry my eyes out. That was the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me. "Yes, I will be your girlfriend!"
He slides the ring on my finger, and looks at me and smiles. He leans in, and instead if kissing my lips harshly, he kissed my check gently. He was the sweetest guy ever.
