"Am I interrupting something?" the man asked. "I probably am. I'm really good at that." he spoke as he stepped forward. "You see, I got a call, something about one of our plants getting attacked by a spider and a hero."
"Dominick, run..." Sam whispered into Dominick's ear as she shoved herself off of him.
"Sam!" he shouted as he tumbled back, falling over. Sam spat out a whirling web portal under him. She turned back to face the masked man, but her gaze met only an empty room.
"Ah ah ah, I'm not letting that one happen again." the Night Hunter grabbed Dominick's collar. "The last time I let someone get away, I got stuck safeguarding human mutations." he threw the boy to the side. "I'll deal with the boy later. Right now, I've got an Elemental right in front of me. Tell me, what's your Element?"
"You think I'm dumb enough to tell you that?" Sam responded, putting her mask back on. Her sharp appendages hovering over her, she extended her arm and assumed a stance, ready for combat. The Night Hunter scoffed.
"You're right, who would ever do something as dumb as that!" he dashed at Sam, kicking her square in the chest. She went flying back as the hunter chased her through the air, landing square on her chest and stomping her into the ground. Crashing into the ground, Sam spat blood out of her mouth, and sticky webbing onto the Night Hunter, binding his legs to her torso. She jabbed at him repeatedly with her spider legs. The hunter laughed at this paltry challenge, and cleanly dodged her attempts to attack him, her legs too slow to stab him. He grabbed onto one of the legs and threw Sam off of him, tearing the webbing on his legs from the sheer force of his throw. The hunter sped through the room, sending a shockwave that knocked Dominick onto the wall. He lined himself up with Sam, kicking her with enough force to send her through the hundreds of yards underground they were, breaking through the sewers, and ascending up into the sky.
Sam looked down upon the world around her, and whipped up a web. She descended through it, and the world around her began to swirl into gray, and she found herself alone, with only the Night Hunter. She quickened her fall through the air, slinging herself downwards with her webs. The Night Hunter ran up the hole he made, getting faster and faster as he ran. The two gods met midair, and clashed, sending a force through the air that leveled the nearby buildings, turning them into rubble.
Dominick stood by himself, bruised from the hunter's shockwave.
"What..?" he said to himself. "This... This is what they meant? He's what they're talking about? This is what it's like to fight a god? He... Sam... I gotta help Sam!" Dominick reassured himself. He bolted up the elevator shaft, jumping from wall to wall in a giant streak of lightning. Launching himself out of the elevator shaft, he passed the corpse of Johnny. Blood pooled around his head, two long stains of blood soured the ground towards the elevator door. He nearly barfed. The hero crouched over the dead criminal, observing the strained look in his eyes. He shut Johnny's eyes, and resumed his sprint. Dominick jumped to the top of the building, and could feel an odd sensation. The winds were moving unnaturally, pushing and pulling in odd directions.
"Hey, Dom." a young, yet rough voice called out from behind the hero. He turned around. Aidan stood across the rooftop from him.
"Aidan?"
"Looks like you didn't take my advice." Aidan said as he held onto the chain on his wrist. "Can't say I blame ya."
"How did you find this place?"
"I found the other place. I'm assumin' you already know there's more than one of these."
"I do. So, you've seen what they do."
"I have. Didn't like it. At all." Aidan responded as he walked closer to his cousin.
"Did you... Did you also kill those... black monsters?"
