A Vihokratana's tragedy

14. Gathering before the trip

Ohm's legs were dancing on their own regardless of how much he tried to look calm. The room was totally empty leaving only a small pup in the care of a bright, shining, merciless Sun. Ohm tried to be courageous and looked up at the man sitting opposite to him. Tawan looked dashing even in his comfy, home clothes. Well, no can say he is a father of three young boys and here was Ohm who looked no different than a pig in that pink sweatshirt or so Ohm thought. Even his favorite blue baggy pants seemed to be adding mockery to him. Once again, Ohm's face dropped. Tay let out a sigh.

"Listen here, boy." Tay spoke first. "I still don't trust you. And with my baby boy, I definitely don't." Ohm wanted to say something but Tay didn't let him. "Let me finish first. I don't know if I am wrong or my boy trusts you too much. So, I am giving us both a chance. A chance to me to know you better if I misunderstood you or a chance to him to know the real you if he has mistaken in making friends and I hope to be the wrong one in the process as I don't like messed up people around my family. This is a chance for you too. To prove me wrong. I don't care about the past. I just wanna see if the current you is worth my Son's friendship and your now behavior will decide if I can let you and my son be friends."

Ohm inhaled and spoke "it's okay that you don't want to clear our past misunderstanding now but wait and watch Mr. Vihokratana you will be the one to know that it was really a misunderstanding without me clearing it. And I will be a friend of Nanon you will trust the most." Ohm finished with a bright smile extending his hand with an expectation of a handshake which Tawan gladly ignored exiting the room. Ohm scratched his head. "You are gonna love me, dear future father-in-law."

"Where the hell are you both?" Frank asked Drake and Chimon on the conference call. "Nanon's both friends are so damn punctual. They are here ready with their backpacks and I don't even know if you two are ready. Shake a leg, will ya?"

"Hey, stop yelling, Frank!" Chimon yelled from the other line. "Drake, buddy you were right. This person is really a maniac once we get to know him."

"Yeah? OK then if you aren't in front of my house in ten minutes let me show you what great sin this maniac can commit to you two." This was a tune of Frank Drake knew very well.

"I will be there in 5." Drake shouted ending the call.

"What about you, sir?"

"I am already outside of your house. For God's sake, Frank, stop being annoying." 

"Stop yelling at your phone and help me take out your laguage." Frank heard another voice from Chimon's side.

"And who's voice is that, Chimon Wachirawit?" Frank questioned.

"Wow! I can't believe this is the same guy who wasn't even able to talk to me properly like just two days ago and now is asking me questions like my Dad. For your kind information that's my brother! He dropped me in front of your house. Have some patience, will ya?"

"Oh OK. Come in, quick. AND BRING YOUR BROTHER, TOO. Don't just shoo him from the out. Got that?"

"Yeah, yeah. Coming, Dad!!!" Chimon hung up the call.

Frank had a smile on his face. Just as Chimon said two days ago Frank was not at all comfortable around Chimon but all it took him was the constant hang out of two days with Chimon, not without Drake, and maybe Chimon is too lovable to be not friends with. He is the first stranger Frank talked to and has become so comfortable with. Their small fights on every conversation they held has kind of become mandatory. Frank has started loving his company. He understands now why his brother loves Chimon. Who wouldn't?

New was just their around the corner and accidentally heard all the conversation of Frank with his friends. He saw his son smiling happily. It warmed New's heart. His son was finally having some friends who are bringing smile on his face. New was curious to know about them. He wanted to thank them. New knew Frank's smile many times wasn't genuine but there wasn't any way to know the sadness behind Frank's smile no matter how much New and Tay tried. But seeing how just a small conversation brought a real smile on his face made New interested in Frank's friends. Just a bit and New would finally meet them.

Perth kept on staring at Pluem, who was busy reading a newspaper, but that didn't mean he didn't realize Perth's intense gazes. It was uncomfortable for Pluem but he didn't know what to do. Ohm seemed to understand Pluem as he gently nudged Perth's shoulder. Perth realized what he was doing. 

"Ahem! So, I am Perth. Nanon's friend." Perth suddenly extended his hand towards Pluem who wasn't even looking at their direction. Ohm's friend love attracting awkward situation, Ohm thought. To avoid the situation Ohm took Perth's hand in his own.

And with a flashy smile said "Perth, I already know your name. Stop messing around, will ya?"

"I am Nanon's elder brother. Pluem. Pluem Purim Vihokratana Teechapaikhun." Pluem with a straight face said keeping his newspaper aside.

"Wow! A long name indeed." Perth gasped in amaze.

"Nice meeting you two." Pluem tilted his head towards Ohm. Pluem had an idea who is was still he needed to confirm.

"Oh, I am Ohm Pawat." Pluem frowned hearing that name. "Yep, you guessed it right. That same guy who fought with your Dad in the mall."

"Does my Dad know?" Pluem asked with a serious face but changed it into his usual I-don't-give-a-damn face in a second after hearing the answer.

"Yep, we talked just a while ago."

Pluem nodded taking the newspaper back in his hands but alas! Today seemed like reading newspaper wasn't in his to-do list. The bell rang and as he got up to open the door Frank came running saying 'Let me. That's my guest.' And as the door opened Pluem's eyes met the least expected person. There was Chimon. Wearing a white t-shirt with a blue denim jacket perfectly pairing with blue cargo.

Frank smirked seeing his brother's reaction. "Took ya long enough." 

"Your best friend ain't even here yet and you are screaming at me. Just, wow!" Chimon yelled back. Though Chimon felt happy seeing his boyfriend's shocked reaction. Pluem was confused seeing his boyfriend with his brother moreover in their home but others didn't seem to notice only Ohm did someone else was shock too. Perth.

"Stop talking on phone while driving. How many times do I have to tell you Drake? I am hanging up." Drake was on his way to Frank's home when he suddenly remembered he hasn't informed about this trip to his aunt Anong but he didn't had the time to connect his iPods with phone so his aunt understood her boy was talking while driving due to all the horn noises.

"Wait, wait, Aunt! I forgot to tell you. I won't be home for some days. That's why called you to inform." Drake hurried his talks.

"Where you going?"

"On a trip with friends."

"Why are you all going on a trip with friends."

"Perth went on a trip, too?"

"Hmm. Now hung up. Drive safe and call me once you reach your destination."

"Aye aye, Captain."

......

Chimon was sitting in the middle of the English roll arm. He winked at Pluem when he was no longer the center of attention rather his brother, who just came to drop him off, was but Perth did saw that wink and he felt pain again.

"So, Win. What do you do?" Tay asked. Tay and New came in the living room after Frank informed them that everyone has gathered.

"I am a veterinarian, sir." Win answered. Frank frowned hearing Win.

"No need to be so formal. Call us New and Tay." New said

"You said your brother's afraid of animals." Frank asked Chimon.

"Did I? You must have heard it wrong." Frank wasn't satisfied with the answer but before he could ask further once again the bell rung. Once Frank opened the door Nanon saw the person he didn't like even a bit around his brother, Drake.
