Hello..?
It has been a while, hasn't it?
I felt like I've been dozing off most of my days and lately needed to do something about it. I found a few drafts that I wrote last year (dear that sounds like so long) and I needed to complete them, maybe even writing a few new one shots? I'm not promising anything, but I know for a fact that I've been missing the whole aspect of writing.
I know the community might not be what it used to, but good thing come and go, sometimes even return. So let's try, shall we?
This is actually a story inspired by true events! DUN DUN DUN!

The first day at my new internship could only be described as hectic. The department of analytics was filled with people, either walking the halls or typing away in front of screens. No one was slacking off to say the least, it is MI5 after all.
It has taken me 13 years and a hell of a lot of luck to stand in these halls today, not to mention the amount of effort I've had to put in to even get an internship at such a well known organization.

Flashback to 13 years ago
A simple sheet of paper lay on y/n's desk. The 7 year old girl sat with her pencil in her hand, scribbling a sun in the top right corner. Her eyes had yet to scan the page, yet to see the well known question that we all get asked once in our lives.
"What do you want to be when you grow up?"
Kids around her had already began writing down all sorts of professions, some more.. enthusiastic than others. Theodore, for one, had written down "professional snake charmer" for his interest in reptiles.
(Sorry, that's adorable)
Y/n's pen made contact with the paper leaving behind a trail of lead from its surface. What did she want to be? The thought of having to be something in the future never occurred to her as it had now.
"Excuse me Miss Hollander?"
The little girl's hand rose slowly in the air, her pencil lying still in the other. Her teacher quickly reached her desk and bent down to help her student.
"Yes, y/n, do you need help?"
The girl nodded, not really knowing how to ask, for she didn't know what was confusing her.
"How do I answer this?"
She tapped the page with her finger, the question mark landing directly under her fingertip. Miss Hollander looked down at the sheet of paper, scrunching her eyebrows as she was adjusting her glasses.
"It's asking you what you want to be in the future, do you know what you want to work with when you grow up?"
Y/n nibbled on her lower lip, the left front tooth wiggling slightly looser than the other. Truth was, the girl only wanted good things, to do good and be good for other people. Miss Hollander saw the look on the young girl's face and pulled her glasses up to rest on her head.
"You've always been such a kind girl, y/n, how about you tell me what you like doing right now?"
Determination set on her face, she did know one thing she's always enjoyed.
"Help good people."
End of flashback

And to help good people is still on the top of my list, thanks to Miss Hollander. That woman single-handedly helped me find out about MI5 and similar organizations. As a 12 year old I spent my days short distance walkie-talkie playing with one of my then best friends. I don't know if it was the repetition of 'over' or the thoughts of catching bad guys and forming plans that made me more and more excited to finally start my journey towards my dreams.
