Another day, another party...

Ever since I turned 18 my mother and father made sure that I appeared at every. Single. One of them. My mother, sister to Margaret Thatcher, needed all the publication she could get, and with a husband who helped her 'produce' me, their path to success was set.

(This was before Margaret Thatcher became prime minister, both she and y/n's mother are around 45ish, making Princess Margaret like 40)

The champagne in my glass tasted the same as it always did. That expensive flavor becoming extremely boring after the 15th sip, making it incredibly unnecessary with a refill.

I wasn't able to drink too much of course, anything I did reflected to my parents, and yet they were nowhere to be seen. Their only child, only chance of bettering their own boring life, now stood by a pillar in the Buckingham palace, watching the guests interact with one another.

Behind the voices music played, a subtle melody that filled the silence, yet seemed almost nonexistent.

The voice talking always belonged to the same privileged man or woman, talking over their so called 'followers'.

And then there was she, Princess Margaret...

Who's voice always made us feel filled with happiness, and of course the feeling we know all too well.. envy.

The life of the party always had a way of doing that, making us feel.. Most of the times making us feel things that no woman should feel for another, but it was there undoubtedly.

(Yuck, straight things)

In the ring filled with only the most important of guests, she sat. The game of timing and story telling about to end in another hysterical way. Laughter filled the room in a desperate hole to keep themselves interesting..

The princesses' heels clinking against the floor told me that she was about to leave, that white and black patterned dress flowing behind her. My eyes were not alone to follow wherever she were going, but no one dared to move their body to actually find out.

The life of the party had now left, but the party went on into its miserable normal way.

Time skip

The room was quite noisy now that no one took control, my head started hurt and so I decided to get some fresh air. People must think I'm mad to leave such an expensive party behind for something as free as air.

The room I had walked into looked identical to the last one, covered in the same posh decorations and interior. I looked past the furniture and to my luck saw a balcony, bingo.

The glass doors slid open with just a turn of the handle, revealing the cool air from the outside. The humid-ness now became apparent and I tried to escape it as much as possible.

My hands clutched the cold railings of the balcony, feeling as though the stress got left inside of the building. The sky had become dark since we arrived here, the sun only visible as a soft gleam under the horizon. Out here I was relaxed and no one could disturb that...

"No, honestly.. I'm done with men, the muses and cigarettes.."

That voice, her voice..

Carefully I looked behind me, the windows letting me see the figures. Princess Margaret and Queen Elizabeth had walked into the room and sat down in one of the couches. Shit, I shouldn't be here, but I can't just walk in there while they're talking... that would be rude.
