_______________________________Any dreams that had clouded y/n's night were quickly forgotten by the time breakfast arrived. She had sat down by the same table they'd had dinner on just the day before, the morning Sun making itself known through the blinds. Before her she found both bread and tea, the sight of the cutlery bringing back memories from the many breakfasts she'd had here.
Music played in the background, something y/n had not heard before, she found it.. pleasant. When taking a sip of her tea, the young woman found herself gazing into the light and out the window. Whatever little she could see through the luminescence to distract her from yesterday's events..
The Doctor... Julia Hoffman.
Elizabeth had written about her, how the doctor had an attitude she hope David wouldn't acquire, and god forbid the alcohol. Although it seemed odd to y/n, she noticed how Elizabeth never mentioned her looks.. the way her hair shines when the night consumes any other light. How slender fingers curled about the very body of a cigarette.
Roger left the table, causing y/n to realize she never even noticed he had sat down. Another thing it made her realize was that the very person that occupied her mind was standing in the staircase to the room, a tightly fitted thigh dress structured nicely on her. A pair of sunglasses rested on the doctor's nose, deep dark lenses that covered her eyes, yet y/n felt those eyes on her.
Showing no akknlowledgement to the younger woman, Julia made her way to the table, the family seemingly unaware at her presence. Y/n could not take her eyes off the other woman and now that she could see all her features she feared she never would. The deep glint she had seen in the dark did nothing to justify the orange that enriched Julia's hair.
"Someone shut those damn blinds."
A raised hand covered the rays of light that shone through the window, rays that shone right into her vision. Willy turned on his heel and quickly shut the curtains, Julia's hand lowering back to the table. Tearing her eyes away from the doctor, y/n realized they had lingered for longer than deemed necessary. The action went free of notice, for once it felt like breakfast could not end faster.
"Y/n, this is Doctor Julia Hoffman, as you're aware she is currently working with David."
No words were spoken, y/n merely nodding in Julia's direction. Eyes met as the other woman lowered her tinted sunglasses, that enchanting brown captivating y/n from beneath the rim. Her nails were painted pink, a slender finger holding down the glasses to get a better look at the new resident.
"A pleasure, I'm sure."
Short, sharp. That was all she got as a greeting before Julia retrieved her glasses to the bridge of her nose, covering those brown orbs. Elizabeth eyed the two women, judging by the interaction that they would not cause trouble regarding disagreements.
How wrong she would be..
Sipping what little drops were left in her cup, y/n saw brown curls bounce into the room. A young boy of 6 walked to a chair, silent as if not to be noticed.
Noticed he was, acknowledged he was not.
Elizabeth worries about him a great deal, his alleged connection to the ghost of his mother being a subject of every letter concerning the sessions with the doctor. Not once had she failed to mention the brood over the topic.
"It's lovely to finally meet you David, I'm y/n Collins, your cousin."
The boy looked up, fork in hand, head askew.
