~No one's POV~

You were running through the forest on your grandparent property, but from who? Why couldn't you remember anything from before this? Tears were streaming down your face as you ran, why were you crying?

You ventured deeper and deeper into the forest being careful not to head to Jewel's Cavern, in fear that you may lead whoever was chasing you to Jewel.

"can't run forever~" A voice said sweetly but menacingly.

"LEAVE ME ALONE!" You yelled back at whoever was chasing you.

You veered off towards the large lake that was nearby, and you started running along the peninsula, until you reached a dead-end water on all sides and whoever was chasing you was blocking your escape. You whipped around in fear, facing the shadowy figure.

"Out of path," A dark, menacing, and evil sounding voice chuckled smugly, sounding slightly insane, from the shadows.

"WHO ARE YOU!?" I shouted at them trying to hide my fear, all they did was chuckle.

"I thought you would remember me (Y/n)~" The voice said almost seductively.

They stepped out of the shadows to reveal the person I loathed the most, Ja-

(Y/-.....(Y/n)?!...... (Y/N)!!! A voice shouted, yet it didn't seem to be a person speaking but coming from somewhere outside this world.

~Your POV~

Currently I was sleeping next to Jewel in her cavern, because I had asked Jewel if I could stay the night, since I wasn't mentally or physically ready to head home yet.

I woke with a yelp, and in an instant Jewel was shouting in my head very panicked,

(Y/N)!!!

"...." I couldn't speak my nightmare still fresh in my mind.

(Y/n) Jewel said softer noticing my shaken state, one of her crystalized willow-like branches wrapped around me, it was her way to hug since she doesn't quite have any hands, and the entire cavern had turned a half magenta and half grey.

"..." I still didn't speak I just held onto the crystal willow branches like they were the only thing keeping me from crying right then and there.

... That person... was that one friend, weren't they? Jewel said worry laced within her voice.

"W-wait how did you know?" I said finally, still very shaken up but a little curious as well as shocked.

I honestly don't know. I saw your nightmare. This has never happened and even I am confused, and I am supposed to be the wise one, being a sentient tree in all. Jewel rambled a little

"That has to do with being a guardian, doesn't it?" I asked the nightmare waring off a little more now.

*sigh* yes. It's not that I don't want you as my guardian though. I just don't want to force you into it. Jewel said sorrowfully. This hasn't happened before, as far as I know, either. The position of guardian is handed down, but I guess there had to be a first guardian somehow...

"Jewel. I would be honored to be your guardian, and don't worry we would still be friends" I said knowing I was reassuring on of her doubts.

Are you sure? It can be dangerous too if threats to arise. Not to mention I would have to train you and teach you has to use the powers of the guardian. Jewel said a little unsure, but also a little hopeful.

"Jewel," I said resting a hand on her smooth yet comfortingly warm crystalized bark, " I would be willing to be by your side no matter what. You're my friend, my only friend, that I can trust. I also maybe want to return the favor of you being by my side all these years." I said sincerely.

.... Fine. Before I give you your guardian weapon, I just have to know... we will still be friends.... right? Jewel said pleadingly.

"Jewel, I will always be your friend guardian or not." I smiled warmly.

Thank you. Jewel said voice wobbling like she was about to cry out of happiness.

"No problem," I said wrapping my arms around Jewel's trunk in a hug.

Now let's get you your weapon, shall we? Jewel said happily.

"How would you train me to even use it?" I asked a little confused.

I- ... your right how DO I know how to use it? Jewel said confused making me laugh. I swear if she was making a face right now it would be :/

Also how do I know what a waffle is I don't even EAT food? Jewel said sounding like she was starting to question her life. I broke into a fit of laughter.

"Photosynthesis" I finally wheezed out after a minute.

Oh yeeaahhh. Forgot I was a tree. Jewel realized, causing me to break into a fit of giggles.

Wait how do I know what that is? Do other plants know what Photosynthesis is? Jewel asked.

We were silent for a moment until be both broke into laughter. I was rolling on the ground tears pricking at my eyes as I was laughing. I took a full 5 minutes for both of us to stop laughing.

"W- *gasp* weapon?" I said a little out of breath.

Right. Jewel said and a sharp blur dropped out of the branches puncturing the ground a few feet away from me. I gasped and reached toward it; it looked like this:

(A/N: Except it is made of a crystal and the middle is a bit longer

"It's so cool!" I yelped in excitement picking up the Double-bladed staff cautiously.

I knew you would like it! HaHA take that doubt! Jewel said triumphantly, causing you to giggle.

"So, when do we begin?" I said after I stopped giggling.
