So I'm making a lot of time lapses, like everyday, and no night, but I want to get to the exciting parts, so just bare with me now. Also, there may be some strong language towards the end of the chapter, only because he is a teenager, and that's how they act. This will probably be th last time I will use any words like that, so I hope you don't mind, if you do, you can skip that part, and ask what went on, and I will explain.
The next day at school, April didn't say hi to me or Caleb. In fact, she ignored us. I thought it should make me happy she wasn't going to bother us, but instead it made me pretty nervous.
Caleb and I were at our lockers at the end of the day, when April came up to us with a big smile.
"Hi, Caleb."
Caleb ignored her and continued putting his things into his locker.
"Not going to talk?" She asked, slamming his locker closed. Caleb stared right into her eyes, but didn't say a word. "That's okay, because I'll make you."
From behind, someone shoved Caleb forward, sending him into my arms. I quickly let go of him, and blushed.
"Sorry, uh, natural instinct, to, uh, catch falling people," I said.
He laughed a little, before turning to a big muscle-y junior.
"Hey punk," the guy said. "Let me tell you something."
"Don't waste your breath," Caleb responded.
"You break up with her, you go through me," he continued.
Caleb glared. "I'm not here to fight."
"Too late," the guy, who I think I remember as Chris, threw a punch at Caleb, but he ducked, and Chris stumbled.
"Sorry, was that aiming for my face?"
Chris grumbled and charged. By this time a fourth of the school was surrounding us, including Annie. I looked over and she had a horrified look on her face.
"Caleb! Look out!" She screamed. Caleb backed up to me, and pushed me out of the way, and got out of the way himself.
"Fast reflexes," he said, smirking at me and Caleb.
"Jess, let's go," Caleb said, grabbing his things from the ground.
"I'm not finished with you yet!" I guess we didn't hear him come up behind us, and the next thing I knew, there was a slam against the lockers, and Caleb was on the floor. (Well that escalated quickly)
"Now I'm finished." April laughed, "good job baby, we're done here now."
I ran over to Caleb who was still on the floor, groaning and trying to get up. Annie ran over to us. I felt bad, it's bad enough watching in a crowd waiting someone get hurt, but it's worse when it's someone you love.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
"Yaeh," he replied. He was lying. His right arm collapsed from underneath him, and he groaned.
I grabbed his right wrist, and he grimaced in pain. "I think it's broken, or sprained at least. We need to tell your mom."
"She gonna kill me if she knows I was in a fight."
"Technically you weren't," I said. "You were the victim who didn't fight back."
"Yeah whatever," he sigh. I helped him off the floor, and Annie looked at his wrist.
"Its definitely something," she said. By this time it was already looking black and blue and it looked a little swollen.
"We need to tell your mom," I said.
