They're on a case and are at the police station while the three talk to the sheriff. They dropped the kids off with Jody.

"How many missing do you have?" Sam asks.

"Six, all in the last 48 hours." The sheriff says. "They're disappearing one by one."

"Okay, uh, let's start with Libby Strauss. I understand that she was from out of town?" Sam asks.

"Uh, she and a friend were visiting from Tuscon. Libby was the first reported missing."

"But all the rest have been local?" Dean asks.

"All residents." Sheriff Tyson says.

"You got any leads?" Miranda asks.

"The only eyewitness I have is the friend. Not the most reliable source."

"Why is that?" Dean asks.

"She and Libby were on the last legs of their cannabis tasting tour. Fumes still coming off the girl when I questioned her." Tyson says.

"A trippin' trip." Dean chuckles.

"Have you had anything odd like this happen around here before?" Sam asks.

"27 years ago. About a dozen residents went missing. 27 years before that, another eight disappeared." Tyson says.

"All within the same time frame? Couple days?" Dean asks.

"Same time of year, too." Tyson says.

"And how far back do the disappearances go?" Sam asks.

"That's it. The town's only been here since the fifties. It was all virgin forest till they found coal here." Tyson says.

"So, then how do people explain the missing?" Dean asks.

"Mostly they don't. People come and go in this town. I've only been here two years myself. There are some old timers with their theories."

"Such as?" Sam asks.

"Town's built on an Indian burial ground. Forest folk are pissed because we stole their coal."

"And what's your take?" Sam asks.

"We're a small town. People get bored, they get fed up, they leave. Once a few get free, it's like a jail break. Encourages the others."

"Every 27 years like clockwork?" Dean asks.

"Honestly, I-I'm just focused on the missing that I have right now. You're welcome to take a look at the files, talk to the witness. I've got panicked residents I need to talk down." Tyson says.

"Right. Sure." Sam politely smiles and Tyson leaves.

"What the hell is going on here?" Dean questions.

"No idea. Whatever it is, it's moved in. Or keeps coming back for seconds. All right, I'll go check on the reports of the other missing." Sam says.

"Oh. I guess that leaves me with Ganja Girl." Dean says.

"Maybe Randi should talk to her." Sam grins.

"Oh, shut up." She rolls her eyes and Sam laughs as the two leave.

"Green eyes, buzzing. Weed alone doesn't conjure up that kind of scenario." Dean says. "Isn't that right, Sam?" He turns to his brother.

"Dude, I was 18." Sam says.

"Sinner." Dean smirks.

"It was college. It was probably oregano anyways." Sam dismisses.
