They have an infected man chained up and Sam walks out of the bathroom.
"What's your name?" He asks the man.
"Bite me." The guy remarks.
"Okay, "Bite Me,"" Sam retorts, Miranda hiding a small smirk. "How long have you been infected?"
"Could ask you two the same thing. We smell our own." The guy says.
"Answer the question." Sam orders.
"Why? Cause you want to know how much time you and your little lady got left?"
"I want to know everything."
"Uh-huh. What's in it for me?"
"Well, if we can find a cure--"
""If." I want something real... something I can hold in my hands."
"Like what?"
"Your pudding."
Sam glances at the pudding cup. He tosses it to the man who quickly opens it, eating it with his fingers.
"Spoons are still a thing, y'know?" Miranda mutters.
"We were both infected last night. You?" Sam asks.
"This morning." He answers, still shoveling the pudding into his mouth.
"Wait a second. Then why--"
"--am I further along? Don't know. This thing, it ain't math. I seen some people change fast, some change slow. But in the end... we all end up the same. We go psycho. And then we go boom." He drops the empty pudding cup.
"Well, that's not--" Sam stops, his jaw clenching for a bit. "I'm gonna fix this." He states, kneeling down to pick up the pudding cup.
"Liar!" The man shouts, lunging at him. Miranda tenses up, moving a bit closer. Sam looks at him, not even flinching. "You and me and her. We're dead. We're just taking our sweet time about it." Sam gets up, putting the cup on the table. "So if you were smart, you'd put a bullet in me... and then her... and then eat one yourself."

"So you... you met a reaper named Billie." Miranda recounts.
"Yeah." Sam nods.
"Then went praying to God and... and didn't get a sign." She adds.
"Yeah." Sam mumbles, nodding.
"But there's something you're not telling me." Miranda says. Sam stares at her for a few moments, cracking under her intense gaze.
"I... I did kind of have a sign... or-or something." He says.
"What was it?" She asks.
"I... it was a vision... from when I was in Hell." Sam says.
"A-a vision. Like... like back when..."
"Not really. It-- it was the past, not the future. I don't know what it means." Sam says.

Miranda's infection spread faster than Sam's, the woman starting to lose it.
"Randi, hey. It's gonna be okay. I'm working on it." Sam says.
"No. No, that dude was fucking right. We should just put ourselves out of our misery." Miranda says.
"No!" Sam yells.
"I'm tired." She says, her eyes tearing up. "It hurts."
"I know. I know, and I'm so sorry, but-- but I need you to hold on, okay?" Sam tells her. Miranda nods after a moment.
