Miranda walks into the kitchen, finding her kids eating breakfast and Sam is doing the dishes. She walks over to her husband, stopping when she spots his face.
"You shaved." She pouts.
"Hmm? Oh. Yeah." Sam mumbles, rubbing his freshly shaven cheek.
"But-- but I loved it. You were so pretty." Miranda says.
"Uh, thanks." Sam mumbles. "Sorry. I just-- Serena stopped letting me kiss her. She kept giving me the stink eye anytime I got close. And I need to take advantage of all the affection I can get before she turns into Carly."
"Yeah, whatever." Miranda grumbles. "What if I stop kissing you? You gonna grow it back?"
"You never stop kissing me." Sam grins.
"I have self control." Miranda insists.
"But you love me too much." Sam whispers, leaning closer to her.
"Mm... maybe. I mean, it's been, what? Practically 20 years. I might want a new man." Miranda teases with a small smirk.
"Oh, really?" Sam raises his eyebrows.
"Yeah. Yeah, maybe, uh, maybe I'll go track down one of my old high school boyfriends or something." Miranda shrugs. "Ooh, or Brandon."
"Uh-huh. Right. And I'll go track down Jess, we'll go on double dates." Sam rolls his eyes and Miranda laughs.
"Perfect, ex-husband." Miranda pats his chest, going to leave.
"Uh-huh, nice try." Sam grabs her wrist, pulling her back towards him. Miranda laughs as Sam pulls her into a kiss, her giggles making it hard. "Stop laughing." He mumbles.
"I'm trying." She laughs.
"You guys are gross!" Wyatt calls out only making Miranda laugh more.

Sam found a case and is taking Dean, Miranda opting out since it's been so peaceful without Dean. Plus, the case involves a killer toy and the last thing she needs is for their children to be traumatized.
"What if you're not back for trick or treating?" Serena pouts up at her dad.
"Trick or-- we go trick or treating?" Sam frowns.
"Samuel." Miranda mutters.
"Why would we take them to get candy from strangers? At their houses? We don't know who or what these people are. Plus, there could be drugs or-- or razor blades or--"
"Samuel." She hisses, smacking him in the chest.
"Wha--" Sam glances down, Serena's doe eyes staring up at them. "I-- honey, why don't you go play? I-I'll see you when I get back, okay?" He kisses her forehead.
"Will you be back for Halloween?" Serena asks.
"I'll try." Sam tells her. Serena sighs, trudging out of the room.
"Yeah, you can remember that look the whole time you're working, Mr. Anti-Halloween." Miranda says.
"I-- I don't like a holiday. Big deal." Sam says.
"Look, just because you puked on your middle school crush when bobbing for apples doesn't mean the day has to suck for them." Miranda says.
"I-- shh. Shh." Sam shushes her. "Nobody knows about that."
"And also I think the vomit girl name should be revoked because you were vomit boy first, you big, clumsy, coffee spilling dweeb." Miranda says.
"At least I only did it once. You've thrown up on me a handful of times." Sam says.
