Miranda sighs as she wakes up, moving around in an attempt to get more comfortable, hoping to fall back asleep. She goes to move over to Sam's side, knowing he's probably awake, but frowns when she finds him still in bed.

Opening her eyes to look at him, Miranda props herself up on her elbow.

"Sammy?" She mumbles, lightly patting his arm. She looks at the clock, seeing it's 7 in the morning. "You okay?" Sam doesn't respond. "Hey." She whispers, resting her chin on his arm, frowning at him in concern. "Sammy, talk to me."

"Mommy?" She turns at the tired voice of her six year old. "I can't find daddy." Serena says. She rubs her eyes and her hair is a mess signaling she just woke up.

"He's right here." Miranda says, getting out of bed. "But here, let's let him get some more sleep."

"He's still sleeping?" Serena frowns. Her dad is always the first parent to be awake.

"Yeah, he just needs a little extra rest." Miranda says, leading her out of the room and shutting the door behind her.

After helping Serena get ready and checking on her other two kids, Wyatt already up and dressed and Carly still asleep, Miranda went back to her room.

She kneels next to Sam's side of the bed, combing her fingers through his hair.

"Hey." Miranda quietly calls. "What are you feeling?" Sam manages to give her a small shrug. She sighs and sits on the edge of the bed. "Come on, baby, talk to me." She pleads, her voice just above a whisper. Sam still doesn't give a response, not even having the energy to talk.

Accepting defeat, Miranda leans down and kisses his cheek.

"I love you." She tells him, but even that gets her nothing. "I love you very much. Come get me whenever you're ready." She says. She gets up and kisses him on the head.

It's a little after 10:00 when Sam finally walks into the kitchen, still in his pajamas.

"Daddy!" Serena grins, racing over to him. She holds her arms up.

"Ho, ho, ho. There he is." Dean checks the time. "Saved you a short stack." Dean points to the plate of pancakes on the counter. Serena tugs on Sam's shirt when he doesn't immediately pick her up and cover her face in kisses like he always does.

"Hey, Donna, I'm with everybody else. I'm gonna put you on speaker." Sam says before doing so. "Uh, why don't you tell them what you told me?" He hands the phone to Miranda.

Sam picks Serena up making the girl grin. He motions for her to be quiet and she nods, hugging him, nuzzling her face into the crook of his neck. Sam returns her hug, lightly scratching her back, feeling her relax in his hold and even feeling himself relax a bit.

"Oh. It's my niece. She's gone missing. And the local cops don't-- I know it's not your normal thing, but--"

"Text us the address. We're on our way." Dean says.

"Thank you." Donna hangs up.

They get to the address Donna sent them and get out.

"Stay in the car." Miranda tells her kids before the three adults walk over to where Donna is.

"How are you holding up?" Dean asks.

"Oh, you know... not great." Donna says.

"Yeah." Dean says.

"I'm sorry for calling you guys, but Jody's got her hands full with the girls." Donna says.
