NEW YORK 2023 - SCARLETT JOHANSSON'S PENTHOUSE

The two girls eventually let go of their embrace. With a gentle smile, Scarlett prompted. "Why don't we start eating breakfast? We've got a table full of delicious waffles, pancakes and fruits waiting for us."

Rose wiped her tears and took a step back, her eyes still filled with excitement. "Can I sit next to Violet, Mom?"

"Of course, sweetheart," Scarlett said, her voice filled with affection as she gestured for Rose to take a seat next to her new sister.

Rose truly showed no inclination to leave Violet's side. She was utterly captivated by her newfound sister, and her inquisitive nature began to shine through. With a twinkle in her eye, she started asking questions.

"Violet, do you like waffles or pancakes better?"

Violet chuckled at the endearing question. "I think I like waffles a bit more, but they're both really good."

"I like waffles the most too!" Rose quickly agreed with her sister. Scarlett chuckled, her youngest daughter didn't even try waffles half the time.

Rose was silent for a while as she took a few bites of a fruit Colin had placed in her place. "Violet, where did you live before you came here?" Rose's eyes were bright with curiosity. Scarlett almost tensed, but Violet seemed calm about it.

"I lived in a few different places, Rose. I was in a few group homes and with different adults." Violet couldn't make eye contact with anyone at that moment, so she leaned forward to grab some syrup.

Rose nodded, seemingly understanding. "That sounds kind of strange. But now you're here with us, and that's so cool!"

Violet's heart swelled. "It is really cool, Rose." She glanced at Scarlett, who just smiled brightly at her.

The questions continued as they enjoyed their breakfast, and it became clear that Rose had a deep fascination with her new sister. She asked, "Do you go to school, Violet? What's it like?"

Violet chuckled. "Yes, I go to school. It's not always easy, but I like it. I have some great friends there."

Rose leaned in, genuinely interested. "What's your favorite subject? Do you have a favorite teacher?"

Violet thought for a moment. "I like English and Math, and I guess my Spanish teacher is really nice."

Rose nodded approvingly. "I like English too, but Math can be tricky sometimes. Do you have a favorite book?"

Violet's eyes lit up with excitement. "I love to read! I think I have too many favorite books." Also, some of the books she read with Kalani were probably not to be suggested to a nine year old.

Rose's eyes grew wide with awe. "I wish I could read many books, but some of them are too long."

Violet could stop smiling at Rose's enthusiasm. "You will, Rose. You'll love them when you're a little older."

The questions continued to flow as they ate. "What do you do for fun, Violet?" Rose asked with genuine interest.

Violet's face lit up. "I love to dance. I'm part of a dance team, and we compete. It's so much fun!"

Rose's eyes sparkled. "Wow, that's awesome! I've always wanted to dance. Can you show me some moves later?"

Violet's heart melted at Rose's enthusiasm. "Of course, Rose. I'd love to teach you some dance moves."

Rose then shared some stories of her own. She recounted tales of her adventures with her friends, and even an anecdote about her class hamster. She was animated and full of excitement, bringing laughter and warmth to the table. Violet was fine just listening to whatever the little girl said.
