Haneul took in a deep breath of the fresh air that met her as she stepped outside. Finally being able to escape the crowd of people congratulating her and avoiding questions about her said 'fiance' she made her way to the maze of a garden the venue had.
She tried to keep warm from the night breeze by wrapping the silky shawl of her dress around her arms and shoulders. As she walked around the garden's maze she could feel her eye's begin to brim with tears. She wanted to cry, cry because she will be marrying someone she has never met, because she is too much of a cowered to tell her father that she doesn't want to do it, and because he made such a big decision for her with consulting her first.
As she walked further into the garden she finally let the tears fall. She sobbed quietly only loud enough for her to hear. Closing her eyes tightly she continued to walk without any direction letting the maze lead her to the center of the garden. As she sobbed quietly walked aimlessly she came crashing into something hard. she stumbled back and opened her eyes as she looked up she was met by a tall dark figure.
"aghh!" Haneul exclaimed as she moved back causing her to fall right on her butt. As the figure moved closer she tried to scoot away. Finally, the figure moved so that the moonlight illuminated the face of a handsome young man. His face was stern and held no emotion.
Although Haneul was relieved but the feeling was soon replaced with annoyance.
"Who are you? and why are you just standing in the garden like a creep!" She exclaimed still sitting in the grass.
" I would ask you who you are as well but quite frankly I don't care. I think I will live just fine not knowing the identity of the pathetic looking girl sobbing in the garden of a party, don't you think?" He asked as he turned his back walking deeper into the garden leaving her dumbfounded on the ground.
She struggled to get up as her silky white dress restricted the way her legs could move.
"Yah!" She yelled trying to catch up to the stranger "what did you just call me?!" She continued as he ignored her finally making his way to the center of the garden where there was a single bench in the middle of a garden of flowers.
"yah?" he turned and questioned. "Are you speaking to me informally?" he continued now fully facing her.
Taken back by his authoritative tone of voice she composed herself before answering him "a-and who says I'm the one speaking to you informally? How do you not know it's YOU speaking to ME informally?" she said as she crossed her arms.
"You older than me? I doubt it, look at you right now acting like a stubborn kid. You were crying so loud just now that you even scared the rabbits that hide around here sometime." he said mocking her as he made his way to the bench.
"That's not true, I wasn't crying." She lied trying to defend herself. "I'm 24." She said sternly waiting for him to reveal his age as well. "Well pathetic girl who is 24, I am in fact older than you by a year." He said sarcastically and mockingly as he took a seat on the single bench and pulled something out of his pocket.
"w-what?" Haneul questioned now a bit embarrassed. She watched as he fumbled with the small box in his hang taking out a cigarette. She scrunched her eyes in disgust.
"You can't smoke in the garden." She said sternly now approaching him where he was sitting.
"I can do as I please. Now, get lost." he said not phased by her at all.
"Hey, I'm being serious stop that." She attempted to snatch the cigarette from him before he lit it.
He pulled it away as she hovered over him sitting on the bench.
