Chained by Expectations | Park Sunghoon

Twelve

"Sunoo we're gonna miss the flight!" Haneul rushed past some people trying to make it on time to the gate they would be departing from.

"I'm going as fast as I can!" Sunoo rushed behind her as he struggled to drag his luggage along.

Sunoo had also been invited to join the Park family on the vacation in place of Haneul's father who was away on business. She was extremely relieved when she learned about the news given that she was not sure how Sunghoon was going to react to the news of her tagging along.

As they finally reached the gate they scanned the crowd of people before Haneul's eyes finally found Mrs.Park. They approached them quickly greeting everyone, "Where's Sunghoon?" Haneul asked as she noticed his absense.

"He has gone ahead. He decided to leave early this morning so he wouldn't miss a meeting he had scheduled during our flight." Mrs.Park informed her.

"Oh I see, I guess that's why I didn't see him this morning." She said before turning her attention back to Sunoo.

"You really should have mentioned it to him Haneul..." Sunoo trailed off knowing his cousin was uneasy with the trip.

"I haven't seen him in like 2 days Sunoo even if I wanted to he's never home." She mumbled.

"Haneul?" She heard from behind her.

"Jake?" She said as she turned and saw the fluffy haired boy approaching them wearing an oversized hoodie and carrying his luggage.

"Are you going on this trip too?" Haneul asked with a warm smile

"Yeah, I'm going with my dad." He said pointing to a man who was conversation with Mr.Park, "I'm so glad to see you, I thought I was gonna be stuck on this trip with no one but business execs." He said placing his hand on his chest letting out a breath of relief. "Now, that I know you're coming I'm glad I decided to come too." he continued smiling at Haneul

Haneul chuckled suddenly feeling shy she could feel her cheeks becoming hot as she returned the smile.

Sunoo glanced between the two who had evidently forgot that he was also standing there. Clearing his throught he broke them out of their trance "Well...Sunghoon is also gonna be there...and me too, so it looks like you won't be alone Jake." He said catching Jakes attention.

"Oh, Jake this is my cousin Sunoo! I'm sorry I should have introduced him sooner." Haneul said as she looked at Sunoo.

"I know Sunoo, it's nice to see you again man." Jake said  politely and Sunoo returned the smiled warmly at him. After a few more minutes of waiting they boarded their flight Jake and Haneul sitting next to eachother.

As they sat waiting for the plane to take off Jake noticed Haneul shivering "are you cold?" he asked.

"Just a little, I should have packed a sweater I forgot how cold it can get on a plane." she said rubbing her hands on her arms trying to keep warm.

"Here take my hoodie." He said pulling the hoodie over his head and reveling his defined abs in the process. Haneul looked away quickly as her eyes landed on his abs feeling her face get hot again.

"T-thanks" She said as she put it on.

"Cute." He laughed and he readjusted his shirt and saw his oversized hoodie on her. The fabric engulfed her.

Before they knew it the plane was in the air and they both drifted into a slumber leaning their heads against each others in the midst of their sleep.

Time Skip:

"Haneul you guys will stay in the guest house we'll keep eveyone else in the main house okay? Just to make sure you're all comfortable. l think Sunghoon might already be inside, we will call you guys when it's time for dinner go get some rest now." Mrs. Park said as she guided us to the back of their beach house were their beautiful guess house was located.
