Chained by Expectations | Park Sunghoon

As they entered the venue they were greeted almost immediately by waiters handing them each a glass of champagne. They greeted people as they moved their way further into the event. Haneul tried to spot her father so she could intentionally avoid having to explain that Sunghoon had refused to come to the event.

However, her plans failed as she unintentionally bumped into her dad as she tried to make her way towards the back of the venue.

"Haneul? There you are, I have been looking for you everywhere." he exclaimed. "Quickly come, I want to introduce you to some of the executives from SkyLineAir." He said pulling her towards a group of important looking people. As her father began to explain to them who she was and what she did they all smiled and conversated with her. "you know my daughter just recently got married." He finally mentioned. 'oh no...' she thought. I don't know if you've heard who her husband is but it's Park Sunghoon, the next heir of Park Corporation!" He exclaimed proudly.

Haneul just laughed nervously shaking her head as she took a drink of her champagne. "They are so in love I can't even image a more perfect couple right?" Her dad asked looking at the execs.

"Where is your husband now?" one of the older lady asked.

"That's true, where is Sunghoon Haneul? I don't think I've seen him yet." Mr. Kim said.

"oh right...um see my husband...um he...he cou-"

"I'm right here." She heard the voice say from behind her. She turned only to see Sunghoon approaching her.

"Unfortunately I had to come a little bit later, I had some important but unexpected matters to handle at the office." He said finally stopping in front of her placing a kiss on her temple. "But, I'm here now, right love?"  He said looking down at her.

"y-yes, that's right. you're here now that's all that matters." She said smiling warmly. 

"how sweet, oh I remember when we were just like them." the older lady said with a huge smile nudging her husband. "You were right Mr.Kim I can't imagine a more perfect couple." She exclaimed cheerfully.

Haneul stood their awkwardly waiting for them to walk away.

"We'll see you in a bit sweetheart okay? Take care of her Sunghoon." Mr.Kim said before walking away.

Time Skip

They had spent the next 30 minutes greeting the guest at the party. Everyone was interested in learning about their relationship that it left them no time to even discuss amongst themselves.

"Excuse me everyone!" They heard Mr. Park announce gathering everyone's attention. "I would like to make a toast." He said as he began to raise his glass. "I would like to make a toast the success of our three companies this year as well as the continuous partnership. I would also like to toast to my good friend Mr.Kim, who has now become part of the family. In case some of you are not aware. My son Sunghoon and Mr.Kim's beautiful daughter, Haneul recently got married." Mr.Park said proudly. "Sunghoon, come up here, you too Haneul." He said motioning for the both of them to join them up on the steps. Everyone watched as the two made their way up there.

"Is there anything you would like to say?" He asked the two.

"We are just so happy to be here amongst all of you tonight, thank you so much for your congratulations my husband and I really appreciate it." She said as he held onto Sunghoon's arm beaming a smile.

"Mr. Park! Have you heard about the rumors that this marriage is nothing but a hoax to bring more publicity to your company! What do you have to say about that?" A man yelled from the crowd causing people to turn their attention to him.

"How dare you question their marriage!" Mr.Kim shouted now making his way up to where his daughter was standing.

"Is it true that they didn't even share a kiss at their wedding? Why else would it be that two partners don't want to kiss at their own wedding?" the man continued.

"Who let that man in here?!" This time it was Mr.Park

"My daughter and her husband have no reason to fake a marriage! They are in love and can prove it!" Mr.Kim shouted at the reporter as security made their way to him.

"go on Haneul."He said looking at his daughter.

"umm.." she could feel her face begin to get hot. Sunghoon on the other hand was enjoying watching her cheeks flush. He fought a smirk from forming on his face.

Hanuel looked up at him before quickly planting a kiss on his lips not even giving him the chance to react. Instant butterflies filled his stomach as he stood there licking his lips. Everyone cheered as they continued to toast. She on the other hand smiled while trying to wipe her lipgloss off his lips "I'm sorry." She said in between her teeth still smiling at the crowd.

"you're lucky I like the taste of cherry lip gloss." He whispered in her ear placing his hand on the small of her back as he also took a drink of his champagne. 'what the hell was that feeling?' he thought to himself as he glanced down at her.
