Aemond returned to King's Landing with a letter from Rhaenyra to his father.
"This is for the king's knowledge only," was what Rhaenyra said. The letter was sealed the entire trip until he arrived home.
Now Aemond witnessed Mother arguing with him.
"You are giving Rhaenyra too much freedom!l," she said angrily. "Lucenys Velaryon has blossomed into a maiden!" You said it yourself! She and our son Aemond can now get married!"
Aemond didn't say anything he just looked at Rhaenyra's letter.
.... Lucenys has had her first bleeding...
...bad history in the delivery bed....
....delay the wedding....
....please father. She is still a child.
"Alicent. Rhaenyra is being reasonable," the king said, looking at his Valyrian model and not at her. "Luck in the birthing bed was never favorable on Rhaenyra's mother's side. She is wise to wait for Lucenys to grow a little more."
"Or she wants to delay the engagement," Aemond interjected. "Lucenys has been exchanging letters with the sons of Lord Manderly and Lord Stark."
"Do you see it, your majesty?!" Mother pointed out.
"Rhaenyra knows the importance of your future marriage to Lucenys," Father said again and then looked at him. "Lucenys will be your wife, I'm sure of that. Besides, in the future you could benefit from the friendships she is making now."
"Unless Lucenys comes to court," Mother said delicately. "May she adapt to a life here, that it will be her home with Aemond"
"No Alicent," replied Father. "May Lucenys spend her childhood with her parents and siblings. When the time is right, she and Aemond will marry to form her own family."
Aemond nodded.
Lucenys would be his wife and he would take her away from Rhaenyra to have her all to himself.

Lucenys tried to avoid Jace's ill-coordinated feet.
Septa Yunet claps her hands to a rhythm as the bard plays a song.
"Ouch Jace," she said, moving away from her brother, luckily the damage wasn't much.
"I'm sorry"
"Princes, princes," said Yunet. "More grace. Prince, posture straight and shoulders back. Princess Lucenys, you dance with the grace of the Maiden herself"
Lucenys smiled at her brother who snorted.
"Princess Rhaena," Septa stated. Rhaena got up from her seat to go to Jace. With a wave of his hand, the bard once again began to play.
Lucenys sat up as she watched Rhaena step on Jace's feet with a wicked smile.
She would treasure these scenes, like little portraits in her memory. For she knew that on the day when Aemond would place her maiden cloak around her shoulders and the Septon would proclaim them husband and wife, there would never be happiness in her life again.

Wood carving was his main hobby along with drawing.
The sketch in his hands was of the dragon Caraxes, he memorized it so he could carve it. Carefully he passed the awl along the traced scales.
